  1. Some of us still haven’t really seen snow… could use some snow TV sadly.
  2. yeah, that won't. But maybe we could Christmas miracle ourselves into something next week -- cold highs to the north sticking around. It won't be pretty, but maybe it isn't a pure shutout week, at least for tracking. need one of these events to happen at night!
  3. GFS continues to show a scattershot of chances around Christmas... nothing crazy, either light ice or light/mod snow. Weird snow map that will not come to pass for Dec. 26
  4. Raining down in the District’s flatlands
  5. Yeah, that band looks good and radar filling in a bit. Can't wait for psu to get a 1-2" storm (he hates those)
  6. Might be a snowflake or two within the rain but it’s pretty clearly mostly rain. Bummer.
  7. Also - it's not for us, but I'm re-learning that the NAM is goddawful, or gonna score the coup of it's life. It tries to blow this storm up for LI/SNE in the next few hours, a general 4-6"+. No other model has anything like that.
  8. Small snowflakes coming down at a decent clip is the report I'm getting back from Arlington (360'). Curious if it'll be rain by the time it makes it to Downtown D.C.
  9. Unrelated, but I’m not giving up on a Christmas Eve/Day miracle. Most of the OPs have something wintry in the area. I guess I’d take a glaze of ice… something to spice it up.
  10. HRRR is some decent snow tv for a few hours. Would be nice
  11. pass. want the progression to be delayed 1 week. If the one time it snows this winter is while I'm on vacation I'm gonna have to move to buffalo for the month of February and pray for lake effect
  12. Those are finicky features. Just need a butterfly to flap its wings wrong and maybe we can get that over our backyards
  13. EURO AI looks like ICON... just too warm to snow during the day outside our favorite spots even with temps being BN
  14. ICON not going without a fight, but looks like a modest step back from 12z. 18z ENS held steady with 12z ENS. Only cooperative for accumulation for favored spots. Poor timing with this during daylight hours.
  15. Nah, I've got a goldfish memory. You could tell me anything. Feel like a BN December is out of the ordinary lately.
  16. I guess it's nice to know it can still be cold... but so annoying we can't get things to line up.
  17. I get it - I guess it’s just a preference of what kind of discussion we want in those rooms, which we don’t need to rehash. I like endlessly talking about threats with a 10% chance to work out since I find that fun, while you are more in long-range unless we’ve got something real, which we increasingly don’t lol. And the long-range is doom.
  18. just in time for my Jan 7-14 vacay. Last time I was there was the Jan 3, 2022 storm. Book it
  19. Dang, new ENS suite to bug the people with Pivotal subscriptions to check? Crazy. Also just realized that the ICON has an ens suite on Pivotal. It does support it's OP, btw.
  20. 12z ICON holds steady, if not a little improved, for snow Friday. Temp issues in the beltway, though.
  21. Guessing people won’t be shocked to learn the 12z EPS was a step back - lost a lot of the interested members.
  22. It’s supposed to be “better” - especially at the surface. https://www.ecmwf.int/en/newsletter/178/news/aifs-new-ecmwf-forecasting-system
