  1. Also, FWIW, any chance at a real snowstorm after NYD on the GEFS (for this run) has been delayed until the 4th.
  2. Rain is the predominant solution. GEFS backed off from its 06z run. Good news for rain enthusiasts though, the mean precipitation is an additional 2.5' right through DCA and BWI before the New Year!
  3. I think ABC might be trolling, it shows 39 at DCA. Or it’s just bold local forecasting. [emoji41]
  4. FWIW, the 06z GEFS was the best-looking run for the pre-NYD storm over the course of the last 5 runs. 6 solid hits, with 2 warning level storms for the area in the mix. 5 decent hits, by decent I mean a .5"-1.5"er for most of us. Only 6 total blanks.
  5. Couple of GEFS members still have a light NYE event. Not a majority, but that idea still exists. More look promising for just after New Years... some on the first, some on the second, some on the third. 31st-3rd certainly looks like a window of opportunity.
  6. Merry Christmas, and may your New Years be rocking.
  7. Definitely some rotation NW of Eldersburg, MD.
  8. yeah, it goes from a dusting to 2" or so in D.C. 6 members seem to jump on it, which isn't anything to scoff at. A couple of them are definitely the snow output on WxBell being funky though, counting sleet/frza.
  9. It's alright. About a 2" jump on the mean for DCA, similar for points N & W. Definitely favors rain though. GEFS likes the post-NYE storm better, it appears.
  10. Some light precip with sub-zero 850s but upper 30s as ground temps... could be some flakes within I suppose. WxBell’s 10:1 maps show a “dusting” for western areas. Unimpressive either way.
  11. 12z EURO has some mood flakes on Boxing Day for MD. Hopefully we can sneak that into being mood flakes for everyone.
  12. Yeah, of course it can be done in healthy doses. But I understand why people snap.
  13. You can see why this hobby is so damaging: a combo of SAD, lack of sleep, isolation from friends and family, lots of investment with no return, addiction to white powders...
  14. Switching topics, FWIW, EPS hasn't totally given up on a light Boxing Day event. Handfull of ok EPS members in the bunch. Those shortwaves moving through probably won't be resolved for a while, so its something to continue to watch in the short-medium range. I know Tony Pann and I will be watching.
  15. Ah, well the guy who won was a nice guy too. Just felt that the other guy controlled the end game well. It was a great season, people are are always surprised it’s on season 37 but it’s still great! Been on (literally) my whole life and still great.
  16. Anyone watch Survivor here? I was really pulling for the other guy. Bummed.
  17. I signed up for an atmospheric science class for non-STEM majors next semester... looking at the syllabus I think I'm going to be fine, lol. You guys are all the education I ever needed.
  18. Not saying I’m going to become a devotee of the CMC, but it’s done well for itself recently. Won in Central/Southern VA for the last storm and seemingly did well for this one as well.
