    for the WxBell folks, you can compare h500 maps (and really any maps!) to model runs of not only old EURO runs, but also things like the GFS, CMC, 18z NAM... just fyi. it's how I try and figure out if things look the same and don't make terrible errors.

    Sorry, it’s sorta hard to convey tone over these messages lol. It’s frightening in comparison but you are totally right that expectations should be low on the western edge of the world. I’m not yet grizzled enough to be cool with OCMD getting 2’ while the mountains get 2” lol, but it obviously can and has and will happen.

    This isn’t over, but we are suffering a lot from “two steps back, one step forward, repeat” and that one step forward is keeping people way too invested. Minus a handful of off runs this has not been our storm

    Still have about 80% snow cover on the grass in Charlottesville, maybe a bit more. Everything left is a total glacier, just need some more snow sooner rather than later to refresh things...
