  1. Celtics great Sam Jones and Chronicle host Mary Richardson also passed today. RIP
  2. Loved the soft snow conditions at the Beast today. Springlike bumps. Give me that over balls cold and icy every single time.
  3. Yeah BL was kind of torchy but we measurable now. Pretty good flakeage at present.
  4. bump. Obscene goings on out in Tahoe. And the GFS throws another 10-12 feet after this current storm cycle winds down.
  5. All I can say to anyone considering heading out there is give it time and be patient. Mountain ops are gonna be tricky.
  6. fair point in general, but 12/24/97 had a high of 34 at Logan
  7. 1998 had a snow event for SEMA and the Cape on Xmas eve that just whiffed Boston. They reported .1" officially
  8. Logan Airport reported 6.8" on 12/23/97 so I presume that was a white christmas 000 TTAA00 KBOS 241717 PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT...FINAL NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAUNTON MA 1210 PM EST WED DEC 24 1997 HERE ARE SOME SNOWFALL REPORTS RECEIVED AT NWS TAUNTON FROM THE STORM WHICH BEGAN VERY LATE MONDAY NIGHT/EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. 9. I think you are right, but I'm also pretty sure it didn't qualify as official given the arbitrary 7AM cutoff
  10. Anyone recall any official white christmases for Boston in the 90s?
  11. The Beast turned on the snowguns today
  12. Nice. That's a fun little trail. Did you ever ski Granite Gorge? Another short lift, but fairly steep.

  14. There could be something to that. Sturbridge area might have been the jack and they could actually weakly downslope from hilly terrain to the west. It's all pretty gradual in that stripe along the pike though, and a net rise coming out of the CT valley.
  15. Not sure if it's coincidence, but that little area near the pike in central Mass has done well in the rare anafrontal events we've had, including last Friday, 12/10/19, and 2/2/18. By done well I mean 3-6".
  16. Still totally awesome as of last March
  17. Yep. Get it while the getting is good. First couple warmish sunny days when most of the mountain refuses to soften, Royal Flush and Devils Fiddle are the places to be.
  18. Royal Flush is amazing in the spring too. A true New England classic for the beach on snow days. The canyon in general catches the early season pow that is pretty often blowing around. If you enter Big Dipper and stay in the woods hard skiers left almost coming out onto East Fall that's not only some of the best terrain on the mountain but also the snowiest. Just piles in through there. I'm thinking if some of these systems pan out it could be game on sometime next week.
  19. How bout Killington reporting 16"? Nice base builder.
