  1. Looks like the HRRR is caving on the cape, 2 runs in a row now
  2. it's bagged. Then of course the 3km totally reversed course from the Cape crusher at 6z to the Cape split at 12z. I think Kev mentioned that they've missed just about everything this year, and when I called the campground they said the same thing... that they really needed the rain and the ponds were way down. Funny how fickle convective precip can be. At any rate the HRRR still pretty insistent as are the globals, so we'll head down bright and early tomorrow instead and Fri/Sat look pleasant and sunny.
  3. Unrelated but has anyone been to the new Treehouse in Sandwich? Thinking of making a trip. Lately have been mainly drinking sours, marzen, and hefeweizen. Good to mix it up.
  4. I mainly agree with you here and fully expect that at some point in the next 12 mos the evidence will show that natural immunity > however many mos old is no longer as effective as an updated version of the vaccine. And then it will be time to get jabbed.
  5. I did yesterday. Would have expected you to read it given your obvious interest in the topic
  6. Please post the evidence that vaccines are performing better than natural immunity.
  7. Any kind of anecdotal stories and quotes in media publications without verifiable data to go along with it should be taken with a huge grain of salt.
  8. not sure if this means wagons stay put, or 7/10 split remains in play
  9. was supposed to be camping on the elbow of the Cape tomorrow night... was kind of hoping for the 7/10 split but thinking we just have to eat the site fee and bag it.
  10. I could not live there for the winter
  11. all they'd have to do is just changed vaxxed to immunized and we'd be good with pretty much whatev. As it stands, I'm ok with non legal mandates... If NYC wants to fire all its public employees that don't get jabbed, sucks for those folks but hey, a roofer's personal politics comes into play heavily when choosing jobs.
  12. Absolutely don't mean this personally but just as we need data for (likely erroneous) claims like vaccines are killing folks, causing infertility, etc., etc., we need data for this too. Here's some for example. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1005517/Technical_Briefing_19.pdf Very up to date stats, no editorializing, from England showing that individuals with one or more jabs were responsible for >30% of recent infections (~10% 2 jabs + 2 weeks) whereas all possible reinfection cases are 1.2%, with actually confirmed reinfections a third of that. I have an open mind here, but I certainly don't give media and politicians the benefit of the doubt if they aren't going to have the courtesy to point us to the studies that suggest reinfection risk is notable compared to the post vaccine risk.
  13. Sick rotation aloft, most pronounced I've seen arouns here in a while. High LCLs and no big rain cloud to obscure it helps.
  14. unclear how things will hold together over the next hour but that reflectivity core east of PSF is a beast
  15. good velocities showing up on the UMass radar, even down low on approach.
  16. I presume there was quite a lot of backlog from the year plus that everything was on hold
  17. that 2nd link appears to all be from last winter
  18. Lots of studies came out showing higher/longer lasting antibody counts in the blood with the vaccines than with natural immunity. But the actual cohort studies are not bearing out numbers suggesting natural immunity is faring worse... The opposite really. There have been hypotheses of other aspects of immunity and/or antibody production on demand.
  19. No. And the testing high for antibodies is irrelevent. The vaccinated are doing far worse with delta than those with natural immunity*. Edit-* with respect to contracting it, not outcomes. Neither group is having bad outcomes for the most part
  20. The cause in this example would probably be given as complications from cancer, which would actually be a decent parallel here. If your point is that some deaths chalked up to covid were as much or more related to comorbidities, then ok I concur.
  21. Covid seems to attack natural defense mechanisms against bacterial pneumonia and make you more susceptable. I saw a research paper suggesting that up to a third of the hospital deaths may have been related to such. Calling it a covid death is probably fair.
  22. broken sensor? Anyway, looks like a true corker on tap, finally. Enjoy folks. We beach.
