    April is here, which (usually) means that unless there's a substantive event it's time to give out final grades for the winter that was. Unfortunately for my backyard, after a decent showing and midterm grade of B+, winter 2021-22 completely flamed out. Giving virtually no effort to produce here, showed, and this will end up one of the most miserable winter's I can recall. Easy grade. Final grade: F

    All I choose to remember about April are Spring Weekend 2008 and especially 2009 at UConn. I believe 2009 was the one that had deep summer feel. But it was certainly spring like in ‘08. Oozeball on the South Quad, Sundresses as far as the eye could see, and sweat dripping during beer pong and dancing. Those were the days. I’ll never forget the dress my now wife wore during that second spring weekend, and how I practically gave up drinking that Sunday morning after way too much rum. Never got close to X Lot. That’s April to me.

    Good to hear. Same here—working nonstop but hanging in there. Hoping for a great NCAA tournament. Barely had time for a bracket but I entered our annual ESPN thing. Hope everyone and their families are well.

    Great defense and good free throw shooting as a team which is great for March, but man, I do worry about these late leads being blown, even though they've been winning. Love March Madness. Can't wait.
