Peak gusts between 40-50 for interior CT with isolated gusts to 55. Peak gusts 50-60 for coastal CT and New London County with isolated gusts to 65.
For fun:
65 Groton
58 New Haven
48 HFD
51 BDL
Very impressive stuff down there. I had a family member on the SC coast near their tornado and had a 70mph gust reported in the area. Not to mention Charleston flooding.
I don’t think you do either, but central and eastern CT (especially coastal areas obviously) are probably going to get real windy.
Euro gone wild at 12z. Take 20% off those and we’re still talking 45-50kt gusts down there.
I know everybody is imby but that’s not really meh for part of the state if that verifies. This time of year I tend to think anything over 55 is starting to ask for trouble. I can see that in parts of eastern coastal CT.
Two years ago, just before my dad passed, we had some snow and ice on Christmas Eve and Christmas. It was beautiful and comforting. Hope we get something to fit in this year too, but even if we don’t, signs look good heading into the new year.
