  1. It really is interesting over the years Steve that when the Euro has been on its own with a solution and the rest of the models don't have it, the trend is almost always for the Euro to trend to the others. This has especially been the case where it was bullish on snow (though thats probably when were paying the most attention).
  2. 2 runs going the other way with heights if we're being honest with ourselves. I don't know that the euros full phased MECS is the right idea with no support still at 3.5 day leads.
  3. I mean I certainly hope the Euro holds firm. The EPS/it’s members are in strong agreement here.
  4. Great move by the GFS. Now the question is do they meet in the middle or does the Euro hold at 0z with a flush hit like the last 2 runs.
  5. I’m not trying to discourage model analysis, but yours is incorrect way to often to give much credence to it. Obviously there’s more s/w energy held back from 18z…
  6. Sure was, the drifting was incredible. Even now, still have drifts everywhere over this way. Amazing conditions over here. One for the books.
  7. That the NAM is damn close and was a good improvement at end of run?
  8. Would agree, the field here made it impossible to see a few feet in front of us. Felt like I was in Watertown again.
  9. Earlier I heard things were awful when the bands were cranking. Whiteout conditions every few minutes.
  10. I actually might make trips out here more often if Carroll Valley isn’t going to get mashed. No doubt the mojo was here.
  11. Fozz, hows 219 looking? I’m over towards Glendale and Glade, and the roads just are not looking great right outside the development (which they kept up on with plowing). This was absolutely a classic storm for me out here, rivaled some of the fiercest conditions I’ve been in this morning.
  12. McHenry had 12” as of 6AM and it absolutely dumped from about 9am-1pm earlier. Would say 18-19” and snowing again.
  13. 18” or so as the current total near McHenry. Visibility is way up, still windy but snow has lightened up considerably. Was a blitz the last 6 hours for sure.
  14. I wish I would have an ATV to ride around and check out the conditions… that would make this trip up the best. That or a pair of goggles on me (need new ones)
  15. Did some measurements and it looks like an average of 15-16 last hour. Of course it’s been cranking since. As long as we have this strong of W/NW flow, I expect these rates will continue through later today.
  16. Man, learning that. Incredible conditions that I’ve really only seen in some of our best storms all time. Combo of 2/10/10 visibility and conditions with 2”+ an hour rates at times.
  17. The last two hours have been unreal conditions. Pure whiteout and S++ here
  18. Can verify that about 10 min from Wisp. S+ for sure right now and winds making vis 500 ft or less for periods of time.
  19. @Fozz @nj2va @mdhokie upslope is cranking right now big time, think we’ve added 3-4” already today, would say near heavy snow right now.
  20. Ridiculous conditions right now. Vis is about 1/8th over here with occasional whiteouts at times.
  21. 21 this morning out in Swanton, heavy snow right now and some wraparound moving in. Going to go out and measure in a bit, but it’s definitely adding up again since the WAA batch. Pretty bullish on a big day of upslope that could bring totals up to 15”+ Winds are gusting to 40-45+ routinely and it feels like a blizzard out there. Some drifting in the driveway at least 3-4’ high
  22. Definitely would be a tough go of it, and essentially a minor liability for them. I’d say it won’t be until Tuesday. Will be an awesome day since we could pick up some great upslope (HRRR is saying 6”+), but doubt it.
