  1. Did some measurements and it looks like an average of 15-16 last hour. Of course it’s been cranking since. As long as we have this strong of W/NW flow, I expect these rates will continue through later today.
  2. Man, learning that. Incredible conditions that I’ve really only seen in some of our best storms all time. Combo of 2/10/10 visibility and conditions with 2”+ an hour rates at times.
  3. The last two hours have been unreal conditions. Pure whiteout and S++ here
  4. Can verify that about 10 min from Wisp. S+ for sure right now and winds making vis 500 ft or less for periods of time.
  5. @Fozz @nj2va @mdhokie upslope is cranking right now big time, think we’ve added 3-4” already today, would say near heavy snow right now.
  6. Ridiculous conditions right now. Vis is about 1/8th over here with occasional whiteouts at times.
  7. 21 this morning out in Swanton, heavy snow right now and some wraparound moving in. Going to go out and measure in a bit, but it’s definitely adding up again since the WAA batch. Pretty bullish on a big day of upslope that could bring totals up to 15”+ Winds are gusting to 40-45+ routinely and it feels like a blizzard out there. Some drifting in the driveway at least 3-4’ high
  8. Definitely would be a tough go of it, and essentially a minor liability for them. I’d say it won’t be until Tuesday. Will be an awesome day since we could pick up some great upslope (HRRR is saying 6”+), but doubt it.
  9. Definitely need a blizzard warning for those in the mountains…
  10. Radar has nothing really over us but I just went out and it’s some of the most brutal winter Wx I’ve been in (chased LES storms in Upstate NY). some 3-4’ drifts out there too, moderate to heavy snow. Almost a complete whiteout at times. I’d say at least 8”
  11. definitely agree, and I’m bullish on the upslope with the strength of the wind coming out of the NW. Can definitely see 18” happening
  12. @nj2va we’ve been getting absolutely hammered here. Conditions rivaling some of our best storms back home. I’d say probably 5-6” depending on location?
  13. Got in last night, and have to again this afternoon. Loving these rates right now.
  14. Thinking based on radar and obs to the S, us folks in Garrett Co for this one are going to hit the gfs totals if we get any sort of decent upslope tomorrow.
  15. Yeah I’d say 2” an hour type stuff or close to it over here near Swanton/McHenry.
  16. If I was home for this one I would like what I see with nowcast obs to the S and current mesoanalysis. Temps are still pretty far down and have cooled at the onset. Richmond area getting smoked right now is never a bad sign in these situations.
  17. I pretty much like everything I say in terms of radar, mid and upper level temperatures and surface obs. HRRR is almost always garbage, but it has held a good outcome winds yesterday. Longer hold than usual if it pulls the rug.
  18. 14 in Swanton as I need some diapers we forgot to restock for the trip out here. Snowing moderately with a dusting already. Should be a fun next 36 hours here.
  19. 12/3 in Swanton, clear skies thus far. How low can it go
  20. Cleveland still averages 54” a year, but to live there… I’ll pass
