Hamden F4 in July '89 is mine. First snow would be Thanksgiving that year, but the buildup to March '93 still holds a special space. Still remember the Weather Channel accumulation map with the bright white 1'+ demarcation stretched from Georgia to Maine and a little note that said "locally 3'+".
We've lost what looked like a lock for 12"+ for days, and the signal for late next week is going too. Obviously I'll still take whatever I can get, but this is a bitter pill.
Amazing, a few days ago this thing was correcting north from the MA and I thought we were golden for a classic all-snow event in SNE. Now it's "congrats Dendrite" and another sloppy mess. Shoulda known.
I'm stoked for this, but it's a trifle disappointing that even with a fantastic antecedent airmass we still can't seem to escape taint down here. It's been ages since we've had a bona fide major that stayed snow start to finish.
I tell you what I particularly like about this one at the moment. It looks like the snow starts in the morning. Feels like it’s been forever since we’ve had a big one do that. I remember the ‘96 blizzard was like that and it just made it all the more special.
You know, I made a facetious remark in the fall that our winters have been terrible since the Patriots started sucking. Maybe there’s more of a correlation than I first surmised lol
