    Undoubtedly, but there's a difference between showing a massive storm but being slightly off on the timing/location of the phase, and completely whiffing the biggest snowstorm of the century.

    It basically had a whiff right up until snow started falling. It was just completely out to lunch.

    The GFS has come a long way, but even so I will never fully trust it with nor'easters. Its Feb '13 blizzard failure still astounds me.

    Accumulations may have fallen short of expectations, but at least it's a strong mid-winter vibe out there. Better than brown grass by a mile.

    You can really see the gradient spread on those individual Euro ensemble members that got posted a few pages back. Some put it south of Long Island, some up by the Pike. For both of our sanity, I pray it sets up south.

    Just out of curiosity, does anyone remember what kind of model outputs we were getting in Feb '15? I assume they were comparable at the least, but I just don't remember.

    I remember an MIT statistician worked out that ‘15 was a 1 in 16,000 year event in Boston. We can dream, but odds are it’s not happening. Still, we don’t have to hit that peak to be stoked about the look. Could finally be a very fun few weeks!
