    Yeah, he pulled off the trifecta. We thought he had a summer flu the first week, but tests came back negative. He had a second bout and was deliriously feverish for a few days last week. He almost never gets sick, which tipped us off to the possibility of tick-borne illness. Poor guy will be on doxy for 28 days, but that's far better than letting any of these diseases become entrenched.

    Just putting out a general service announcement to check yourselves regularly for ticks. My dad has been having flu-like symptoms on and off for a couple weeks and just came back positive for Lyme, erlichiosis and anaplasmosis. Heavy heavy doxycycline in the forecast. He hasn't developed an allergy to red meat though, so there's the silver lining.

    Might be disease? My bro had two in his yard yesterday in Berlin.

    Emphatically agree. My brother discovered a dead one in his kid's play area scattered among their stuffed animals/toys and had to do a rabies course for the whole family. Not a pleasant experience. Cost him a couple thousand bucks, and his insurance was billed a couple hundred thousand.

    It is quite steamy out there. Don't have the AC on yet though. I plan to install tomorrow.

    The damn tent caterpillars are all over the south side of Fishers Island. I was going out of my way to squash them with my car.

    My car is buried under maple keys. It's ridiculous.
