  1. Fernand gives me Henri vibes. Just not a name that screams forest flattener to me.
  2. Somewhere in NYC, a patrol car just drove through a Macy’s and didn’t even notice.
  3. Desperately need some rain. I’m gonna write a sequel to Grapes of Wrath if this keeps up.
  4. Have him commandeer the vessel and punch the core.
  5. Lol, in my experience it's usually the other way around.
  6. Erin's a regular smoke show this morning. Impressive intensification overnight.
  7. Bill's waves were the first time I understood the kind of power these storms pack. Just a special experience for me on Fishers Island. Massive massive waves slamming the beach and sucking thousands of stones out as they receded, all under a full moon with distant flashes of lightning on the southern horizon from the nearest band. My house is on the northern side of the island and you could hear the waves thudding a mile and change away.
  8. We need to tariff Canadian ‘canes.
  9. Yeah that was so lame. Isaias was much more fun.
  10. One of the most unpleasant runs I can remember. I’m gassed.
  11. White face hornets have been busy down here. I’ve nailed three nests on my house in the past few weeks.
  12. I’m in Florida today and it’s no hotter here than it’s been in CT.
  13. It is oppressive. I'm just drinking my coffee and sweating down here.
  14. That was my dad last week. Literally falling out of bed delirious. Nasty diseases.
  15. Wait, is that a real product? If so, what a waste of computing.
  16. Didn’t Oxford CT do like 84 during the big heatwave?
  17. Yeah, he pulled off the trifecta. We thought he had a summer flu the first week, but tests came back negative. He had a second bout and was deliriously feverish for a few days last week. He almost never gets sick, which tipped us off to the possibility of tick-borne illness. Poor guy will be on doxy for 28 days, but that's far better than letting any of these diseases become entrenched.
  18. Just putting out a general service announcement to check yourselves regularly for ticks. My dad has been having flu-like symptoms on and off for a couple weeks and just came back positive for Lyme, erlichiosis and anaplasmosis. Heavy heavy doxycycline in the forecast. He hasn't developed an allergy to red meat though, so there's the silver lining.
