    God I still remember spending the entire winter of ‘94-‘95 staring out the window of my fifth grade classroom forlornly at the grey/brown landscape. Painful. But the next year more than made up for it.

    Barely a puff of wind as it went through here. Gotta say the wind must've been been pretty strong earlier. Just got home and my grill and outdoor furniture was all blown off the patio. The Adirondack chairs are pretty heavy, so there must've been some solid gusts.

    Hilarious. When I lived in Boston, I saw someone down in Hamden post a picture of beautiful mammatus. My mom shares my interest in weather, so I texted her “Hey, I hear you have great mammatus” and sent it out, not realizing it had autocorrected to “Hey, I hear you have great mammaries.” Whoops.

    I made my family open presents yesterday. White Christmas accomplished.

    Lovely event. Nice to get a little taste of life in NNE for a day and see the grass covered. Puts one in the Christmas spirit, even if it all melts later.

    There was something special as a kid about waking up in the middle of the night to find the orange glare of the old street lights softened by unexpected heavy snow. Especially if it happened before a school day.
