    I stumbled across this image from the East End of Fishers Island during the ‘38 cane and wanted to share it. This area is between the FI Club golf course and the Simmons castle. As you can see, the island was cut in two during the storm. If you could see far enough Napatree Point would be in the background. Just wild stuff. It would take an immense surge to do this.

    Still bummed about that pine grove that got blown down by the tornado in '18. That was a great picnic area.

    What a day. Took a swim in the FI Sound. No sharks thankfully.

    An absolutely incredible part of the country. I treasure every time I get invited up to Tupper Lake.

    Best gust of the storm so far. Just roaring through the trees and whistling through the eaves.

    My kingdom to see this radar in 4 months with fresh cold in place. Jesus.

    Wind is definitely escalating now. Pity it's dark out and I can't see the mayhem unfold.

    The BOX radar presentation is pretty cool. In the absence of any other storm information, I would think there was a 'cane off shore just by looking at the radar.

    Hasn't been overly windy, but there are a surprising number of roads blocked by fallen trees in my hood. Maybe all the rain this summer weakened them.

    The morning jog was a little sketchier than I thought. Main north/south road from my house is blocked about a mile north with a big maple. A FedEx driver actually stopped and told me I should go home. He said he's seen a half dozen trees down so far this morning.

    Thought I just heard some in the distance. Interesting storm.

    First shotgun blast sound from a snapping tree just now. Don't think it's in my yard, however. Generally breezy with the occasional whistling gust and attendant downpours. Let's see what the day brings.

    Wind definitely ramping up. Getting some whistling here and there, and the occasional house shudder.

    This is ridiculous. It’s like SCT has been singled out for divine punishment. I’m gonna build an aqueduct to S Weymouth if this keeps up.

    Yep. Started raining right in the middle of my barbecue. Almost predictable at this point.
