    Any met or long time lurker ( @clskinsfan @nj2va @CAPE) want to give me their best shot as to what they think shakes down this way in SW VA? We are so close on the line down here between a heavy snow or heavy ice scenario I’m having a hard time. How out on an island do you think GFS is compared to other guidance?

    @BornAgain13the 6z gfs would be a cataclysmic ice storm. Those totals are absolutely insane.

    Man.. if the GFS freezing rain map verifies we may not have power for a long time. Congrats to 64 north. Looks like this one moved too far north.

    Looks like you may have a couple hours of very heavy snow as well if things behave.

    I’d honestly rather have a slight shift south in the event there’s a correction north some up until game time. Getting ready to get pretty darn excited. Been quite awhile for a pretty significant snow here.

    Agreed. Very hard to bet against the Euro. Is the AI similar and in agreeance or does it at least bring a better snow shield for most? I’m not as caught up as I usually am.

    I got a better chance of surviving gas station sushi than I do of the GFS verifying. It will cave soon.

    I’m jealous down here guys and gals. Looking to be a raging sleet or ice storm thus far. Been the theme this year it seems for south of 66.

    25 and moderate to at times heavier snow with better dendrites. Eyeballing it looks like we’re approaching 2” here. Radar still looks decent for awhile. Snow is a nice powdery flour or sugar.

    @SnowGoose69 @HKY_WX could I get your opinions on what you foresee happening for southern VA? GFS went back to its idea of heavier snow at 18z, short term meso models seem more aggressive, but most globals are completely against it.

    It went back to what it was showing the other day. Previous to its slight southward shift we were in a 4-6” band for 5-6 runs in a row. Be hilarious if the Nam was actually onto something. Crazy model war 24 hours out.

    18z GFS really beefed up snow accumulations for a good majority of the board. Love to see that last minute.

    Is this thing still overachieving on the north and west side based on reports? Been busy as heck at work today and haven’t been able to overly look.

    I’m in the advisory which means they’re all aboard the globals and not short term models. 1-3”. If I get 3” I’d be happy for sure.

    What an absolute impossible forecast for Blacksburg. Globals have an inch or two here and short term models have a full fledged snowstorm.
