Down below freezing (31.5) this morning, I see lots of under 32's out there, hope people didn't get the 'spring bug' and plant a bunch of stuff. WAY down in the teens at Canaan this morning.

My numbers for the month of March, 2023 Total precip was 1.67 inches vs a normal of 3.52 inches, a - 1.85 below average and falls into 4th driest behind 2006's 1.03, 1988's 1.20 and 1981's 1.59 inches. Wettest day was the 4th with 0.65 inches. There were 10 days with measurable, 3 'T's and 18 dry days. Total snowfall for the month was 1.1 inches vs a normal of 4.5 inches, a -3.4 inches below normal but not in top 5 as 1982/83/89/97/00 all had goose eggs. The snowiest day was the 13th with 1.0 inches falling. There were two days with measurable, 2 days with a 'T' and 27 days without snowfall. The average high temp was 56.4 degrees vs a normal high of 54.4 degrees, a + 2.0 degrees above average. The warmest day was the 24th at 75.7 degrees. The average low temp was 31.9 degrees vs a normal of 30.0 degrees, a +1.9 degrees above normal. The coldest temp recorded was 16.0 degrees on the 21st. Overall average temp was 44.2 degrees vs a normal of 42.2 degrees, a + 2.0 degrees above normal. The highest wind recorded was 41 mph on the 15th. Three new records, a new 'cool max' set on the 20th, and new record lows set on 20th and 21st. Overall a warm (except for around the 20th) and dry month and quite windy, recorded 19 days with winds exceeding 25 mph.

71 degrees here at 1:30 pm with a stiff SW breeze 11 gusting 23. Thank goodness from 2012's 82.5 record high, or we'd probably be heading for one!

Wow, already 60 degrees at 10:45 am with mostly cloudy skies....

Well... sitting at 49.6 degrees, a full 8 degrees cooler than the forecast. We shall see what the rest of the late afternoon brings.

Had a nice 42 degree temp spread yesterday, 61.5-19.5.

Tied the record low for the date from 1986, 16.0 degrees. Currently 19.5/15.8 with some high cirrus in the sky.

Just glanced at Cannan, they have a legit shot at zero, currently 2 degrees and falling. EDIT- nope, they turned the corner and heading up, 2 degrees will be the low.

We rolling out this way, winds went calm around 5 am and temp has dropped like a rock. At 7 am it was 16.8 degrees, DP 9.0 and that sets a new record for the date, breaking the 17 degree reading from 1981. Temp is STILL dropping and currently at 7:45 am it is 16.6 degrees. Likely a new record for tomorrow. BTW, at 5 am it was 22.1 degrees. EDIT-just realized that I DID break the 'cool max' for the date too, 35.6 degrees was high, old mark was 36 degrees from 1981. Had it backwards there for a minute lol.

It is 35.0/7.2 here at 3 pm. Wind still NW at 6 gusting 13, so WC running 30/26. It was chilly this morning when I did a 3 mile walk, 20.7/3.8 with NW winds 11 gusting 23 at 8 am. WC's were around 5-9 degrees.

Just barely broke freezing here, 32.5 for a high with flurries whipping by in the breeze all day. Never any accumulation today, but did pick up a penny (0.1) with 7 am observation this morning. Winds have been gusty all day, 30-35 mph, did have a 39 mph gust right at 2 pm. Currently 30.1/19.0.

Just had an interesting 'sleet squall' roll thru here. It was sleet, NOT graupel. Just enough to start to whiten things then it stopped. Currently 37.7/26.9. Winds picking up too, NW at 7 gusting 22.

Just thinking off my the top of my head... it takes a REALLY warm Feb and a chilly March, so 1984 and 2017 come to mind.

More sleet than snow here now, but hit 1.0 inch before that started, first inch of the season, quite a wait!!

Oh... I'd say be prepared for it and thru April as a payback of sorts for the incredibly mild/warm winter. Everything evens out in the end you know.
