  1. It's funny, but one of my closest friends growing up had grandparents in Webster. I learned some good Yiddish from them. One phrase in particular sticks in my mind...I will probably butcher this, but....."halt deinen mund du Trottl du!"
  2. Schmuck and Putz are good ones too...I hope she didn't direct those at you!
  3. This map is not from February 2013 (of course, it won't be for January 23 either):
  4. Well, the euro day 10 looks promising for day 12 or so. It's all I got down here: Back when JB was a real meteorologist he would point out the trough to the east of Hawaii as key:
  5. Sitting in the spectator seats...this was a hell of a storm on satellite and radar. Looking out the window probably ruined it.
  6. For us southerners we will need great sewing skill...like threading the needle one handed!
  7. What is your surface wind direction? The flakes might be forming overhead, but blowing to your S or SE.
  8. I'm not familiar with the initials CFS? It's the same ting as the GEFS?
  9. You don't see this too often.....coast-to-coast. Actually, the 850s look good throughout the 10-15. Good spot for a baroclinic boundary too.
  10. I look at this map and wonder how this doesn't redevelop off ORF. It seem the James Bay high should be "higher" considering the confluence. Oh well....
  11. Great, 3 miles to my west is going to get a freak, unanticipated convergence zone-type storm.
  12. Westport getting absolutely smoked, 1mm per hour, at least!
  13. I am about to drive from Trumbull to Westport...through the teeth of the blizzard. I will report back.
  14. Nah the 2" cutoff is Bridgewater. Then it's bone dry.
  15. Is this really gonna be a sleetfest for northern Maine, and a snowstorm for the inner Cape? lol
  16. Even the GEPS and EPS have moved the ridge axis further west. They both seem to be one tic from the GEFS. The GEPS and EPS are also hinting at a Pac fire hose late in the run. But the news isn't all bad....if the GEFS is right the west gets some much needed snows!
  17. I think Foxborough will be in the bullseye.
  18. NAM on the Reggie crazy train. Nice thump for the fish 75 miles east of NJ.
  19. BDR is just killing it for theoretical snow fall this winter. You guys in Mass can put this in your pipes and smoke it:
  20. When the space ship comes to take us to our new planet in the heavens, it will be bigger and shinier than ever! Just kidding, I have fingers crossed too.
