Hmmmm....just checked 8/99 at BWI and it had a 3 consecutive day rain event that totaled 4.15". Not quite as much as Floyd's 5.8", but a big total nonetheless. I'll vote 99' to Raindancewx's query.

Anybody getting Hurricane Floyd vibes from 9/99? Rainfall forecasts are starting to look like it around here.

The models are looking like the ghost of Floyd around here, but that was 9/99 not August.

On a related note, I had a client a few years back who was a flight instructor in that little airport on the eastern side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and unknowingly taught one of the crews of the 911 jets. It was either the Pentagon or PA jet, I can't remember. He came to see me over 10 years afterwards and he was still very upset about it. He died from cancer a few years ago sadly.

I only watched briefly, but he was saying that tomorrow and Wednesday were when it was going to get bad. I was in Duck back in 2016 or 2017 right after a tropical storm, and it was a mess for 3 or 4 days afterwards.

Yep. Channel 13 was the Accuwx station in Baltimore starting in the 70's back when Accuwx was definitely better than the NWS. But I also watched the DC stations. Bob Ryan disliked snow, but did the best job explaining the meteorology of storm threats imho.

I honestly have never watched a local forecast since I bought my house in 2019. Before that in MD, it was 09/10 winter.

I'd cancel. 1 rainy day at the beach is OK, but unless you've got places you just have to go, e.g. a Starlight Diner, it's no fun. Lol
