  1. Nasty cell entering Carroll County MD looks to miss me to the south...thankfully.
  2. NC getting nasty. Warned storms under those clouds. https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/sector_band.php?sat=G16&sector=ne&band=GEOCOLOR&length=24
  3. Cooking now. https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/?parms=LWX-N0B-1-24-100-usa-rad
  4. <ducks> .4" from that line last night <ducks>
  5. More bright orange aimed at me at 10:39pm. Hopefully it fall apart and drenches those who want/need it.
  6. Ended up with a hair over .8" in 30 minutes.
  7. Nah, I've mowed 6 or 7 times this year so far. Bad for me.
  8. Looks to be a spin to the cell cluster in southern Frederick/Carroll Counties in MD. https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/?parms=LWX-N0B-1-24-100-usa-rad
  9. Of the 5 years I've been living here in Hanover, the rains has never been this loud on the roof. Can't imagine it possible in these parts to rain harder.
  10. Came together at the last minute right over me. Getting crushed under orange returns. Exact opposite to last year's droight.
  11. Line is taking its time heading east. Just had some thunder but nbd.
  12. Question for me is whether the line can make it over Bubbler's Hill intact.
  13. Hey, seasonal forecasts from most modeling was all in too with a decent east coast winter on balance, not to mention the Euro weeklies. Get the Indian Ocean to cool along with other global oceans along the lines of what most modeling is showing, and we'll have our chances this winter imho. But the modeling has got to be closer to right than wrong on the matter unlike their forecasts for last winter. Obviously, there's nothing pointing to a blockbuster winter in the east, but how often does that happen and be right? Some winters that looked cr@ppy on paper beforehand have managed to dump some decent snows imby when I lived near BWI, and they, plus a few more, did likewise in my current location.
  14. Fiberglass. R48 I needed new vent fan ducts, so I had those taken care of so the fibergless remained undisturbed. If you don't have that in the works in the foreseeable future, have them put batts over the area that would get disturbed by the new AC blower. That way they can be pulled if before and during work then replaced. Just a thought.
  15. P.s. i did have them foam seal openings, cracks, light fixtures to stop air leakage before the blown in insultation.
  16. I went blown in. Foam does burn and there are some who claim problems with off-gasing, but you'd want to do some research on that. Also, future wiring changes are challenging with foam.
  17. Was on it twice from 92 until we sold in 2022. I cursed it every day because every road into Linthicum, except for 1 which I rarely needed to travel, had a crossing which was down seemingly half the time. Life was great for the 3 years before it! Lol. More irritating was that for at least the first 10 years, nobody was on it. Biggest waste of taxpayer money and import of crime for areas near the stations.
  18. No you wouldn't. When they put the light rail train from Hunt Valley to Glen Burnie (north-south) right thru Baltimore City into my old digs in Linthicum Heights, crime near the stations jumped 50%+ within a year. Fortunately, my house wasn't in running distance to the station.
  19. I knew the taxes were outrageous before buying, but moving from MD where they taxed retirement income made it a wash...until MD starting waiving taxes on retirement income after we left.
  20. Mine are thanks to the school district taxes. Just go to Realtor.com and search the 17331 zip code. Pretty outrageous really, especially when you consider gas taxes.
  21. IDK, except for a Nina, exact strength and location TBD, I think it's too early for any broad, brush forecasts as chaos is a biatch. But if you're going strictly on persistence, warmer east than west and a -PDO of some sort would be as far as one could reasonably go at this point imho.
  22. I hope things improve for you. After 2 sinus surgeries, I never came close to getting back to normal. Sux
  23. Ughhh....come back to mushrooms in the front yard. What a difference a year makes.
