Why can’t the NAM be out now. Londonderry is 40 min drive I gotta leave now beat the bad roads likely. I think the radar looks primed for SE NH imo
-
I’m gonna sound like an idiot here. I’ve never been near mountains honestly lol....there’s a range in the distance and it’s like a fog cloud getting closer and closer. Is that just fog or maybe a snow level? I’ll grab a picture, pretty cool.

I just started mixing in Henniker, I might have been seeing things. Outside now still rain. Haha
-
I have my things packed. Gonna wait for NAM and how the radar looks around then.

I think you should be somewhere where you can walk around. You are probably good where you are for 10+ at least according to the zone forecast. If I were you and wanting to leave I would probably go south towards the hills of Northern Massachusetts north of Worcester or maybe in the Monadnocks. But you don’t wanna be sitting in some hotel along the side of a highway. You got to be able to walk around.
Yeah the place I’m at is perfect for walking around. Sitting a top a little hill too. Heading down to the local breakfast place now. I don’t necessarily want to leave, I am just worried a bit about the ULL closing off too soon and shunting east a bit. I could foresee the 12z NAM ticking east a bit

Light rain has commenced.

Silly question. But any chances of blizzard warnings if the winds ramp up?
I’m kind of curious too. No one has really talked about the wind at all it seems.

Do you guys think I should ride it out here in Henniker NH or take the plunge a bit SE. There’s a Sleep Inn at the Manchester airport between Derry and Manchester. Other option could be MA like Westminster. I have to decide in next few hours obviously before it gets bad.

Then toss it and look at the latest HRRR . Flip by 11 am in Westborough And nudity
The hrrrs radar representation looks too far south compared to current obs. That could be just an issue with graphics, but idk.

36 here at Henniker at 4am. It’s def cold and feels like snow out here this morning. I love this area I gotta move here one day. Radar is beastly looking.
-
Just woke up the NAM which came west and GFS looks fine. I think I’m going to stay in Henniker and take the risk. You gotta love the look of the radar. Beast incoming.
-
Man this current radar looks fun.

Well if the data goes sour for the rest of 00z, can you still change it?
You got all wheel drive on that sucker or at least front wheel drive? You can always chase the band during late afternoon and early evening and then trek back to the hotel later if it looks like the best is east.
Yes. I really need to see all the models do it and then also tick east at 6z and I’ll find a spot where you said. I drive 09 eclipse it’s front wheel drive but isn’t great in the snow obviously.

I wish we had more Dec 03 events. It’s so hard to get areas from Mt Greylock to the canal a good hit. Never mind jacks, it’s just more fun when you have a large area involved. Nemo would work too lol.
Isn’t it kind of weird how TWCs idea of naming winter storms actually worked for that one. When someone brings up that event I don’t remember what day it was just that it’s NEMO.

That said...it def makes for some anxious model runs when you are on the line.
...And when you spent money and drove 6 hours to watch heavy snow haha. I feel like I’ll do fine out here, but I really came up to get into that almost hurricane curved precip band showing up on the data. We’ll see...btw It was pretty interesting feeling the temp difference as I drove NE.

I told him to stay near the Derry/MHT line but he didn’t listen.
I tried to tell him....
Lol I couldn’t decide and went with safety with temps and elevation a bit, but how did I not listen to the master. I still can! Gonna get some sleep now, wake up and see how the 00z/6z runs look and maybe a get an early morning truck East if I need to

You could make a last-minute decision in the morning based on how things look. You could make a last-minute decision in the morning based on how things look.
Yeah if all the models follow suite and the 6z NAM continues I just might consider it

I’ve arrived to Henniker...I’m almost tempted to eat the money and head East lol....nah anything can happen and I’m not rich. I’m happy with 8 or 9, but hopeful for a foot plus obviously.

Welp, after that Euro run I am officially on the way. About to get on 95 actually. God I love this stuff. Hopefully traffic isn’t horrible. What I found interesting was the manager at the motel was kind of surprised about the snow after I told him I was coming.
thanks again for the help and recommendations!
