  1. I’m a retired fed and starting for those hired 1/1/84 and later we paid into ss so Im collecting ss, a modest pension (40% of high 3 year average base salary without bonuses or other incentives). But I was able to contribute max allowable by law into 401k. Plus catchup in the later years so I was putting in a ton. They match up to 10%. Not sure what the future is for govt pensions so anyone already in or retired count your lucky stars!
  2. That’s about the time I set out for my daily long walk. About 2 hours later the magnificent moonrise made me appreciate the here and now as a reminder that it’s good to be alive! Comfortable but after hours of vigorous walking I still needed a shower before bed. Alas, we’re in the 2 showers+ per day season.
  3. I think most maxes were AOA. It’s just climo in May or June requires big departures before people say hot. June arguably is the most beautiful month. The miserable chill of earlier spring is usually gone and the big heat and dews don’t usually show up for more than a cameo at least until the last week of the month.
  4. I think with the cold pool of 546 thickness over us that 70 is a stretch. Lots of clouds at peak heating time.
  5. I had to put on long pants earlier for a doctors appt.
  6. Turned into a comfy evening. Time for a walk.
  7. Warm and humid afternoons here downtown at MEEI.
  8. Lol…I was including myself in athe abnormals. All of a sudden it’s wet and muggy.
  9. You could be the only normal person here.....including me! Today feels like summer but for the heat haters it’s not at all extreme.
  10. Bunch of snowflakes here. How dare the wx stray from San Diego! Of course in winter dark and cold with discomfort exercising outdoors is ok…..
  11. Today is a magnificent day! Should reach upper 70s/80 and clear as a bell. June probably is the nicest month. My favorite season is summer followed closely by winter.
  12. 2009 was pretty awful. Multiple work crises and very little warmth until later in August. I was coming home from work in the dark in late June. Not fun!
  13. A year later they sent me to this day camp-circa summer of 1953. A torrential rainstorm for 3 days ended up with mud turning the lake brown. Cool wet summer. No thank you.
  14. It’s a beautiful day. But I do have a memory of being 5 years old and my parents took me on a cape vacation in early June. My brother was too young so he and my grandmother stayed home in NNJ. All I wanted to do was swim but it was too cold and dank.
  15. Completely agree! If all we wanted was comfort we’d hate winter.
  16. Actually, Seattle summers are spectacular.
