My childhood featured some really hot starts to September as I recall.

I think today will close the books at 98 at BOS. Past 6 days we have 4 98s, one 97 and a measly 95.

I think I’m done with this heat. Uncle!

Yes 98. Past 5 days have 3 98s. 1 97 and a 95.

Our daughter and niece hiked Cannon last Sunday. Our daughter wanted an early start but our niece slept in where they were crashing at daughter’s friend’s place. They started up from where they parked at 2pm, hit the summit late and barely made it back to the car before dark. They then drove back to our place arriving around 1AM. Our daughter was worried but niece has no concept being a native of Chicago.

With a solid month or more to go. Last summer was front loaded, this one appears back loaded. The frequency of 100 degree days is crazy vs a few decades ago.

Well the first one was 7 days straight and who knows how long this one will be? The long duration to me is the eye opener.

Officially BOS at least 97 today.

Third consecutive AOA 95 for BOS.

Reminds me of long summer days outdoors from childhood. I also like dews for my skin and heat for the joints. Hopefully my knee will allow me to take a 5 mile hike this afternoon. Then a nice cold beer when I come home to the cool house.

My last electric bill was $289 which is maybe $20 more than normal summer and most of that is due to inflation. However I’m still waiting for the July bill which should be well into the 3s.

Would you rather see them screwed and get a lot of snow vs everyone getting dumped on?

I based it on the EPO emerging. Essentially really strong warm anomalies in the GOAK in September. It worked that year which was the first time I used it.

Love summer! Heat and dews are fun to me, really. It’s in part the more relaxed pace although this summer I’m working very hard for someone retired. i admit it’s close, though. The excitement of the winter storm coming into view and then seemingly a lock only to be muted or even better is amazing. I could do without the icy walkways though. We’ll probably go to warm wx for maybe a month this winter but our dog is hanging on thankfully at age 14 and it’s hard to find someone who will watch her and care for her in our home.
