    Looks like the first snow is about to enter the south shore of Long Island.

    I think the thing that will set this storm apart will be the temperatures. It will be in the teens and low 20s which will make that snow blow all over. If ever we needed a blizzard warning, I think this is the one.

    NWS has me at 8-14 inches. We shall see.

    I find on nights with no wind and clear skies, especially in winter, temperature differences in short distances can be extreme. I have seen 5 degrees difference from 2 weather stations at my house, one 6ft. above the ground and out in the open and the other above a shed 20ft. in the air. The one 6ft. above the ground and in the open is colder.

    Because it will be so cold where it does snow, the snow to liquid rate could be quite high.

    Starting to get more info as the players come close to the continental United States. Hopefully the east trends do not include the new info.

    This appears to be a Saturday storm, 3 days away. Will be interesting watching models, especially tomorrow as we get more info and will be only 2 days out.

    I don't remember ever seeing a low with a pressure of 948 off the northeast coast, not even on a model days out,

    This is not the first time a model or models show a 970 low off our shores a week or 10 days out. So far none have materialized.
