    I am thinking the constant westerly wind the second half of the month came across water to keep La Guardia a little cooler.

    I would say June was comfortable the first half, although wet. The second half mostly hot.

    Looks like first batch says no to Long Island.

    The naming of those two storms probably would not have happened in the past and the further in the past you go the less likely they would have been named. This is why comparing the amount of storms in todays world with past history, is flawed.

    I know some don't want rain but I need it. I hope it does not turn into a summer like last year on Long Island where everything goes north, south or west.

    Like yesterday an early 94 degree reading here, that is as high as it got yesterday as sea breeze worked in. Wind still west at this point.

    Yea drove from the Rockville Md. area to near Dulles airport after the storms went thru, numerous trees down and some on top of cars.

    Was in D.C. area this afternoon, numerous trees down and some unfortunately on cars that were on the roadway. Meanwhile back home 88 for a high.
