  1. That looks good. It also looks like your roof is one you can walk on without to much trouble, that's nice.
  2. Yea that would be good for the wind readings. The problem is, if you are not one willing to go up that high, (and it is dangerous) if something has to be replaced. Davis is a good instrument. I have both the Vantage Pro 2 and Vantage Vue.
  3. You might be able to do it yourself. What kind of station?
  4. .97 of an inch here today, vast majority of it this morning.
  5. .86 of much needed rain in a short period of time.
  6. Amazing its the same thing every day, New Jersey to about the city and very little further east
  7. Yes I can always see it from my area but seldom get rain from it, I am just a little to far south.
  8. 108 in Marquette in 1901, wow.
  9. Looks like its over here, .06 on the day.
  10. Picked up .05 from recent shower and more looks to be developing to my SW. Moving toward Nassau Suffolk border.
  11. rain shower here
  12. Yea I saw that, still a chance.
  13. See lightning to my Northwest, probably about as close as I'll get to the rain
  14. High here today 86, so far .01 inch of rain.
  15. I agree but last summers drought gave me to many dead patches that did not come back. Just don't want more.
  16. Many in my neighborhood have more of a green lawn than me. I watered this morning because I don't want to develop dead patches like from last summer drought. First time I watered in maybe 2 weeks. I have seen folks with sprinklers that water so much, even with plenty of rain, the ground is soft and muddy when walked on.
  17. Just got done watering the lawn. :-)
  18. .01 of an inch since midnight, here.
  19. Just like last summer my lawn is turning brown and crunchy. Yesterday my forecast was a good chance of rain tonight now it's down to almost nothing. Same old story.
  20. 88 my high today, strong sea breeze this afternoon
  21. The water temperature that amazes me is apparently 98 degrees off south Florida. I wonder how deep the water was where that was taken.
  22. Sea temperature It may play a part but I don't think it has made that much difference. Average NYC January water temperature is 41.4Tides Sunrise and Suns Average water temperature in New York City in January over a decade Average January temperature over a decade 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 39.7°F 39.9°F 42.6°F 42.3°F 39.6°F 2019 2020 2021 2022 2023 41.4°F 42.6°F 41.7°F 41.9°F 41.7°
  23. Wow, where is all this warm water coming from, air temperatures the last 3 months are not even averaging 70 yet water temps are far higher. Maybe the lack of offshore storms not stirring up the deeper colder waters?
  24. There is more Arctic sea ice than 9 of the last 12 years and maybe those warming ocean temperatures can combine with some cold air to produce some good nor'easters.
  25. 93 here today, 4th of the season.
