  1. Hit 91 here but dropped back to the 80s during most of the afternoon.
  2. Some clouds have moved in here and the temperature dropped from 91 to 86.
  3. Central Park and Newark both represent the urban landscape. Newark in the industrial area and Central Park in a tree lined setting. So pick your poison. Meanwhile Long Island and eastern N.J. seem to be strange bedfellows today as far as temperatures go. Approaching or at 90 in many Long Island locations.
  4. Islip does look a little out of place.
  5. I hope not, very oppressive outside already.
  6. 76 my high after overnight low of 53.
  7. Will Idalia actually affect us next week
  8. No 90 degree days here, also.
  9. 64 degrees this morning with lower humidity, feels great.
  10. Even have the outermost clouds up here on Long Island.
  11. Ended up with .30 inch of rain here. Now sunny and muggy temperature 80 degrees.
  12. Quick .26 here, temperature down to 69 degrees.
  13. 6.9 record surge in Cedar Key but far below the prediction of 9-12 ft.
  14. Good thing Idalia is hitting a low population area.
  15. After a mild day today looks like pleasantly cool weather for 3 or 4 days. Then back to summer. August at Central Park should end up about an even 75 degrees.
  16. Thursday and Friday look real nice with highs in the mid 70s and lows around 60 in the city and 40s and 50s in the burbs.
  17. I think the last 3 days will average about normal and the month about an even 75 or -1.3 at Central Park.
  18. The average for the contiguous U.S. for 1981-2010 is 52.8 and 1991-2020 is 53.3. So if we are a 1/2 degree below normal this season it would probably be about average for the 1981-2010 period.
  19. Heavy rain here this morning now ending. Received . 64 of an inch.
  20. Up to .59 here as rain moved back in.
  21. It was so warm late last evening but how refreshing this morning
  22. I think even with the satellite era we have become a lot quicker at naming storms that may not have been named in the past. Now even subtropical are named. Before the satellite era, who knows how many were missed.
