  1. Long Island certainly overdue for a land falling hurricane. Last one was Gloria in 1985.
  2. Was on the Bronx River Pkwy. when the heavy rain went thru. Three areas were flooded causing traffic back ups. I thought I was out of it but hit another big backup because a tree fell across three lanes and only the shoulder was open. Other than that not a bad ride.
  3. A windy day today with numerous gusts in the 30s. With leaves on the trees it makes that wind even more pronounced.
  4. The problem is so many people live in coastal areas in Florida. Take that increase in population and the increase cost of inflation and it is no wonder insurance costs have increased dramatically in Florida.
  5. Still 77 here with nice breeze, first evening that actually feels like summer.
  6. My temperature has risen to 78.5
  7. 75 here, nice afternoon.
  8. Heavy rain lightning and thunder here. One lightning flash was very close.
  9. Good bet with the overnight lows. As the city and immediate surrounding area continues to build more and more big skyscrapers, the heat Island at night will probably get even warmer.
  10. My average high so far this month is below 70. Meanwhile Central Prk has hit 87 and Newark 90, two different worlds.
  11. My high today only 63, now 52.
  12. Low 30s here, light frost.
  13. 61 my high. Now down to 49 with the chilly sea breeze.
  14. Mid 30s here and already well into the 50s.
  15. 34 degrees for a low here. lots of places freezing or below outside the city.
  16. Got down to the mid 30s here last night. Now 40.
  17. Good move. I was planning to do something like that but the cloud forecast had us change our plans
  18. Glad to here that. The diamond ring, when the sun just made its return appearance, was phenomenal.
  19. Spent Sunday and Monday upstate NY and Vermont, watching eclipse. Different world up there. Still snow on the ground in many areas and very little if any in the way of spring foliage. In the higher elevations going from Plattsburgh to Newport Vt. some areas had, what looked to be, about a foot of snow on the ground.
  20. It took me 2 hours to go about 5 miles from where we saw the eclipse to the highway. I figured it would take about 2 hours to get out. I did not figure the entire length of route 91 to be so bad with traffic.
  21. I was in downtown Newport area, near the high school. Nice park right on the lake. I was a little concerned about places like Walmart. I was concerned their lights would come on during totality. Hope that did not happen.
