  1. Gloria hit eastern Nassau and east the hardest. Numerous trees down and many lost power for days. The hype with Gloria was very high, so areas from the city on West that didn't get the strongest winds might have felt it was not so bad. If it hit at high tide, coastal flooding would have been much worse. I believe the center past close to the Nassau Sulfolk border.
  2. I am hoping October is more like September, a prediction of above normal temperatures but ending up about normal or only slightly above.
  3. Looking further it is 12 for 12 for Central Park and Islip and Bridgeport. Newark and Kennedy will be 10 of 12 and LaGuardia (had one day that was even) so 11 of 12.
  4. This will be the 12th straight day of below normal temperatures at Central Park and probably all other nearby stations but I have not checked.
  5. 58 here, wind gusting to almost 30 mph. More like an October day
  6. Never expected September to end up below 70 after such a warm start.
  7. Naval station at Virginia Beach reporting sustained at 36mph and gusts to 51mph
  8. Another cool night, down to 58
  9. Thanks to radiational cooling and UHI, no blip lows in urban areas, just rural and suburban.
  10. Dipped to 49 here this morning. UHI in full affect as Central Park currently 60. Good radiational cooling night.
  11. Nantucket webcam for anyone interested. https://masswebcams.com/nantucket-webcam/
  12. 58 this morning. Cool feel this morning with a stiff north wind and mostly cloudy. 61 now.
  13. Outer cloud shield from Lee over Long Island this morning.
  14. It has been fairly consistent for eastern Maine to be feeling strong affects from lee. Looks like eastern New England should also feel affects. Still time for small moves east or west that can make a big difference.
  15. .02 of an inch of rain today, far less than what I expected.
  16. So it appears the slower Lee is now, the more the shift to the west may be as it approaches the northeast. Also indications it may slow as it approaches Maine and eventually accelerates to the northeast..
  17. .36 inch of rain here. First rain all month.
  18. Temperature dropping steadily here as the wind has switched to SSW off the water. 85.6
  19. topped out at 94.1 here, impressive, warmest of the year.
  20. At 1PM Newark 95 Central Park 93 LaGuardia 93 Kennedy 91
