It really comes down to how often you use it as a reference. If you always use mph and then all of a sudden someone mentions knots, having to do the conversion is tedious. But if you start using knots regularly, then I'm sure converting back to mph will be the annoying part.

It ain't looking good, that's for sure. I was a little concerned going into the season that they're a bit too old as a team (in football years). Not sure if that's a factor, but something is.

Base-10 units are more logical, but having tangible reference units can be fun. Knots annoy me, though.

McLaurin is a beast, but the C’s really need Jayden back. They basically will need to go 7-2 the rest of the way to have a chance at the playoffs.

The scent of wall to wall winter vibes is increasing with each passing week. I guess the ultimate question is whether this pattern is becoming the base state for the next few months or just part of a turbulent ebb and flow. All I know is that the Desert Southwest is experiencing incredible weather right now.

NOAA satellite loop hasn’t updated since early this morning. Nice day here, though…probably managed about 50/50 sun/clouds.

The current satellite loop depicts us finally getting a high pressure to the north strong enough to allow for a system to actually move to the south. Is this the start of a pattern change towards systems that produce more than NS shortwave-inspired broken lines of showers and remnant cloud slop?

Winter lovers have got to be loving the latest weather pattern. This would translate to easy snowstorms during the winter wheelhouse.

Caught a glimpse of a cool looking crescent moon peaking thru the Great Lakes inspired clouds closely following sunset.

I remember it being a bunch of wimpy snow events up here. Pretty sure New Orleans had a bigger snowstorm than Frederick. It was a winter, but nothing memorable imo.

This pattern would translate to a brutally cold, wall to wall winter. Unfortunately, we’re kinda due for it. Gotta get the outdoor activities in while I can.

Sunny start to the day here, but based on the satellite loop, the Catoctin crew should not get too comfortable with the blue skies.

Relentless, UFO-level cloud deck nearby today. If you love winter, you gotta love the upcoming forecast.

Glad I took a 330pm “lunch break” while it was still sunny out. Almost a summer-like demarcation of clouds and sun on satellite. Nice little cloud deck has rolled in to finish off the day.

This is turning into a bit of an overperformer. Precip bands are almost out of the south right now.

The Catoctin Cloud Magnet (CCM) has been a force this morning...and very visible on satellite. Looks like some thinning in progress, though. Hoping to get another round of sun today before the line of showers and stuff arrives after sunset.

Clouds like to hang around the Catoctin's on the tail end of systems as residual energy moves through, regardless of whether it's a dry front or not.

I want a refund on today's sunny forecast. Sunny to me means at least 80% sunshine, not 40% (and that's being generous). Probably more so a Frederick thing than for areas to the east.
