The haze today was dumb. Hopefully, this doesn’t become a longterm trend. Looking forward to a southerly flow because it’ll mean less of a chance at smoky skies.
Epic basketball weather alert with veiled sunshine and legendary temps to start the day. My lower back strain (or whatever it is) was epic for a few days recently as well. Getting older is something.
The argument could be made that this is the nicest day we've had all year. Those that don't like warmer temps, get drier air...and vice versa, contrapositive, etc.
Catoctin Creek is running pretty low again. This area could use a deluge at this point, but the models aren’t showing a whole lot from this event for the rain shadow zones. Hopefully we can at least get a line of cells to move through.
Similar boat here and, frankly, maybe more of a micro because I’m right up against Gambrill State Park/Watershed. Grass is not just a tint of brown, but legitimately getting brown.
I’ve been in the rain hole shown iweather, though today has a different vibe so far. Sunny and humid start here. We’ll see if anything can tap into the fuel.
PA really does seem to do better with storms overall. I always kinda liked their climate (aside from probably more clouds). Less concerns about the sleet line in the winter and closer to shortwaves swinging through the Midwest. Their roads do suck, though.
The mountains are too powerful for these wimpy frontal passages and shortwaves for our valleys. We need more of the forcing that we had in May and June.
