  1. I need to start wearing shoes with better traction on wet pavement/ice. I’m just gonna leave it at that.
  2. yea, i really think it's the follow up wave later in the weekend to pay attention to. i haven't looked at the euro, but on the gfs/etc the ns sw is out of ahead of that ss energy with the high pressure being too suppressive, unlike the last system where the ss energy got wrapped up early on and was like a bowling ball.
  3. the southern jet definitely lifts further north on 6z gfs compared to 18z. almost looks like this could morph into a multi wave type of deal for the weekend instead of one big storm.
  4. we're in the "carrying a bike up a rocky hill" portion of the hobby.
  5. I’m not fully invested enough yet to care lol. There’s no trend unless a storm shows up for 2-3 runs in a row.
  6. Well assuming the gfs is right, the Sunday system doesn’t seem like it would take much to turn that into something if it can phase earlier with the next ns energy.
  7. i knew it was different based on the accumulating snizzle i experienced there several years ago. literally did that for like 24 hours straight.
  8. Wind has really ramped up (balcony furniture has now gathered around in a huddle). I already can tell the wind is out of the nw as it just rolls right off the mountains.
  9. looks like two systems to keep an eye on...the stat padder and where the boundary stalls will determine what happens with that next southern wave for the weekend.
  10. bit too much high pressure "press" for the interior, but if the boundary sets up further west it could be fun. as is, looks good for the tidewater region for now.
  11. i'm kinda interested in that thursday system. looks sneaky.
  12. Southern stream is involved on the gfs but phases too late. There is a backup plan showing up next week with a better trough alignment.
  13. This is the transformers and power outages portion of the program. Hopefully that stays low.
  14. I can see the glaze on cars. Might go out soon to investigate.
  15. would have been cool if this game was on pittsburgh.
  16. i expected it, but elevation hasn't been as important east of the blue ridge...that mid level warm air is obviously pretty high up and probably thick. needed a better 500 low track.
  17. i think it's a wrap soon. i did just check and don't hear pingers yet. pretty good band moving through, but it's football time now. curious how hagerstown does though in a setup like this.
  18. guess i'm next soon lol. 100% snow here. glad it stayed snow during the daylight. whatever it wants to do now is fine.
  19. just got home. still ripping here...though sounds like the sleet march is on. let's see how well sugarloaf to urbana to mt airy can delay things.
  20. Until the flip happens, this is a premium snowstorm in progress. Taking the Jeep out and roads covered. Pure powder. Really has an Atlantic system feel to it.
  21. think i'll be doing a walk soon. strike while the iron is...cold enough for snow.
  22. What’s impressive aside from the moderate powder falling (which has got to be at least 0.5” ph here right now) is the breeze. It’s really adding an element to this storm.
