  1. Not saying very much. Also can’t even make out where the sun is anymore. Still choking thick here.
  2. Not sure how accurate this but wow. From PurpleAir. The city looks to be 400+.
  3. Down to 1mi visibility at Farmingdale and 1.5mi at JFK. 0.75mi at Central Park and 1mi at Islip.
  4. Getting even darker here, you can barely make out the sun.
  5. You can tell that improvement is inching its way south through the Hudson Valley and CT on the visible sat-that’s where you see clouds bubbling up away from the smoke. But we’re socked (choked) in for a while around the city.
  6. Sun looks like a reddish orb in the sky. Crazy how dense this is. Burns your eyes too.
  7. Surreal in this, never saw this before in my life.
  8. Getting the distinct orangey look to the sky and campfire smell again.
  9. Syracuse sensor up to 411. Yikes.
  10. Totally gross outside-thick smoke smell.
  11. Yikes, and about to get hit again.
  12. “Sun” back out here (smoky orb in the sky)
  13. Robert Moses Causeway might be getting pelted with hail. Don’t see that often if ever in the last 20 years.
  14. Had a few pea size hailstones and mod-heavy rain but predictably it’s weakening here.
  15. Maybe spoke too soon about missing the hail core here. Looks like it’ll be close. Mod rain and thunder currently. Very creepy/smoky sky.
  16. Nasty hail core right over Oyster Bay.
  17. Sky getting dark but looks like the storm might go just west of me. Rain is desperately needed however we get it.
  18. Wow, thanks for posting!
  19. If this storm can hold up over Westchester it might be a nasty one for MBY. I wonder if the smoke actually helps these storms by providing nuclei for the clouds.
  20. If we’re getting maritime low cloud gunk, mesos definitely win. If the low clouds don’t happen we’ll probably make it into the 70s. Regardless, no heat for a while with the deep trough diving in.
  21. You should move to Seattle.
  22. Back door front wildfire smoke. That… doesn’t happen every day.
  23. Still 70 on the beaches. Not your typical BD front other than the winds. The one for next Sat though looks way nastier, hopefully that can adjust.
  24. GFS looks quite blustery tomorrow for the Jersey shore/S Shore. Umbrellas on the loose alert on the beaches. Clouds look to get shunted south again though.
