  1. The media only cares abour ratings and advertisement rates. A non-story isn't profitable.
  2. https://www.wsj.com/articles/how-a-wave-of-electric-trucks-could-create-millions-of-accidental-environmentalists-11619236828 How a Wave of Electric Trucks Could Create Millions of ‘Accidental Environmentalists’ Auto makers’ powerful new all-electric trucks and SUVs are attracting U.S. customers who wouldn’t otherwise shop for green machines; ‘Tesla to me is a yuppie vehicle’
  3. We need advancement....and currently the private market is almost exclusively driving the advancement. Elon Musk is single handedly the world leader in speeding this process up. We can't just stop fossil fuels cold turkey. There needs to be a way to remove co2 from the atmosphere.
  4. I'm realistic. The only solutions people will rally behind are those with as little impact on their lives. Sucking the CO2 out of the atmosphere in Nevada to pull down the levels in England are palatable for most of us. You seem like you have ulterior motives at control...you'll be watching the world burn with that kind of thinking.
  5. There's no precedent for what route an advanced intelligent civilization needs to take to safeguard the planet. Do you really think there was a blueprint for all of this? Bury CO2 and let technology advance to carbon neutral. That's your option at this point.
  6. Went to a movie yesterday. 4 people in the theater to see a movie that came out a week ago. RIP to cinema.
  7. We could do a moonshot global project to bury co2 if we really wanted to, but the key is to get enough governments and people to make the push. Transitioning to carbon neutral is underway in most developed nations already, we could bury it faster than developing countries are producing it....but again, who makes the first move?
  8. The only holdup I have when discussing AGW relates to the warming that took place from 1880s till the 1940s. The amount of increased CO2 was quite minimal, yet the warming was similar to the 1970s to 2010's. I mean....did 280ppm to 310ppm really make enough difference to equal the rise from 320 to 410ppm?
  9. Looks like a nice slug of rain for my area. Was kind of wondering when we would see this again.
  10. Damage has been done? Like....those who would be hospitalized or die have already succumbed to both...or what is it?
  11. Whoever implemented this change should be fired. I find myself using Weather.com for radar instead of Weather.gov these days.
  12. That was me. I made that call with no data, just figured we have a more hardy population after COVID did it's culling.
  13. Took a 5 mile hike on the outskirts of Ann Arbor (heavily liberal) and people hiking in the middle of the woods were wearing masks. Leaving metro Detroit you hardly see anyone wearing them outside of large chain stores and certainly not outside. No lives were saved, it's just theater. He's right.
  14. This is an annual post from anyone living in Michigan.
  15. That's what my girlfriend calls me. How'd you know?
  16. I might be shifting my vacation to Florida or Texas now as opposed to California.
  17. That's anything with sour cream... I know what you're talking about.
  18. I have been dining in sitdown restaurants since it became possible, it's just nice to grab a bite to eat without a 30+ minute commitment and not dropping $30+ doing it. And people who complain about Taco Bell are full of crap.
  19. Feels good sitting inside a Taco Bell eating like normal.
  20. Was talking to a few of my snowmobile buddies about this. Thinking 10 feet in spots could be on the table. Next winter I'm going to start mountain riding. Getting tired of the hit or miss winters out this way.
  21. I'd be curious to see if we experience a net drop in deaths overall as seniors and others in weaker health are absent from the population going forward. Eventually things will settle back to where they were, but we could see a temporary drop below normal levels.
  22. The new NWS radar output is horrible. I never use it for that simple reason.
  23. I have held off booking my flight for the end of March due to not being completely sure who will have the mandate or not. I might opt for Texas in this case.
