  1. Spend too much time looking at model maps and start to see them projected on the inside of my eyelids during those times.
  2. Lmao. They'll be all set for the generator and ALSO for tormenting their neighbors with non-stop, snow-peacefulness-destroying, obsessive snow blowing. (something I have to prepare a zen mindset about ugh)
  3. Anyway...Maestro, you can read music. A graphical representation of keys, pitch, rhythm, etc etc so many factors. Most people look at that like you look at a sounding, and feel mystified, maybe intimidated. I bet if you psych yourself up and think I can do it, and take the time with it, you can.
  4. In the same pathetic snow hole. Have been thinking/now hoping 6" is our floor.
  5. Without commenting on the snow/sleet amounts part...nearly everyone on here is tired, cranky, needs a nice cup of sleepytime tea and a good night's sleep.
  6. Beware, one was posted that wasn't finished snowing
  7. I think the larger point of his post is the level of uncertainty that persists with this and the limits of what can be known, when.
  8. Sounds super fun. Glad you get to just enjoy this one! Thanks for all your thoughts.
  9. Sounds like you enjoy it and it's part of your weenie-ing out vs just a sense of duty, which I respect haha I like being out in it, too, but walking and stuff more so than shoveling
  10. Yes, leaving a bottom layer of snow is the way, if you're going to shovel during the storm. "Just wait for it to end" is what I've mostly done in the past. Probably would drive some people crazy and maybe it's not the most efficient but I like to see the full marshmallow effect and am ok with just one big shoveling.
  11. Coffee, which is fairly stupid of me, but I want it. Contemplating a wee glass of bourbon alongside.
  12. Nice. Has it shed any additional light on our storm?
  13. I remember many years in which it was debated, by smart people, here and on twitter. But now I see mets saying it all the time and turning up in lwx discussions so (idk, shrug?)
  14. So, what sort of data is everyone ingesting this evening?
  15. I hear ya about the labors. I would start a thread. Seriously. People have done that before with detailed write-ups. I get that could feel like too much but it's an option, and would keep what you did from being missed.
  16. It might have gotten "buried" anyway bc the thread is moving fast, generally, and especially at that moment. I would post it again at a quieter time (if there is one? lol) or maybe start a thread. The analyses are great! The mods can't keep track of that type of thing tho, they have more than enough of god's work to do.
  17. Oh yeah, there are many laughs to be had! I usually don't get too uptight about banter but traffic is gonna be so high. It's all good tho bc...zoomed out...this is what we live for!
  18. A friendly suggestion that when we want to anticipate, in advance, the dumb things people are going to do, think, and post next, we do it in the banter thread. We know they're going to do, think, and post those things, because they (we) always do lol. We can just deal with it when they do. Or ignore it. Posts anticipating the dumb things are...a bridge too far, maybe just me, sorry guys
  19. I wish folks would just let Randy do it and without the pressure and interrogating him along the way. It doesn't take that long lol. We're all excited so it's totally natural. But it's ok to not speak for a few sometimes.
  20. We're going to need a quote about the upcoming storm! Derail the panel agenda if need be
  21. everybody's weather apps
