  1. I had a tough time too, going with 3" for now while watching reports. Looks great out there. My eyes are happy! A pasty, wet, stick-to-every-twig snow. Glad for the cold temps coming. Thought I heard thunder rumblings in the early a.m. half asleep.
  2. I never focus on having the most and that wasn't complaining. Same here. I was all set to be thrilled for 3"
  3. Just pulled the snow shovel out, and you know what that means, that means nothing because jinxes aren't real. Glad this has evolved into much wider event! It was agonizing tracking a narrow band. It's fun seeing mby be in or near the jackpot. In honesty, and this is not a meteorological opinion, usually the highest totals will wind up at least a bit NW of here, even when we are favored, will not be surprised at all. Let's roll!!!
  4. Risking more banter, I too am old enough to have OBSESSIVELY called 936-1212
  5. Here's some frozen water for ya. Shot from yesterday morning.
  6. The area I live is sometimes like a geography puzzle in this sub - neither the lowlands NOR the northern tier Periodic annoying reminder that highlands/lowlands in our region is an east/west thing, not a north/south thing. I can't help myself. Carry on. Best of luck to all even remotely in the game. MBY still looks decent so I'm super excited for a possible 3+ incher. The stakes are this low..but the frustration in here is understandably high...so if it is a good event imby I will be off the forum to best enjoy it.
  7. This was my first thought but then it seemed unfair to insult it right out of the gate maybe too close to "goofus"
  8. Middle finger for Frederick Co, but of joy
  9. Beat me to hauling out this phrase, lol. The northern snow drought is not just Baltimore N/W as we often discuss (better climo=more disappointment probs) but it has also been bleak Balt NE for 95 corridor northern peeps. I prefer big snows that hit the biggest area possible but if this modest tiny miracle happens here, we are due.
  10. Gorgeous shots, every one. Well done. I love cemeteries in snow. Also the hints of red/orange/warmth that come through in snow pics/winter scenery IRL, like in these pics the cut firewood, berries, etc...the color palette is just, chef's kiss.
  11. River ice gone. Geese taking a swim. Hopefully more fun with ice to come this winter.
  12. This prob isn't the weekend but one of these days I have GOT to do this, or a WV spot. I can never seem to get it together and/or manage schedule wise and I live vicariously on here. Have done beach snow but not for a long time and no mountain snow. Goals.
  13. Yeah, life in the lowlands
  14. Low of 16. The Bush River is frozen over.
  15. High 34 today, currently 30/6.
  16. Love to see the pics, enjoy the snow day and keep 'em coming
  17. Memorable here, too. I feel like those of us who got the goods (not everyone in the sub, we will prob be reminded shortly) reminisce about this event almost every year haha. Total whiteout. Most intense rates I've ever seen. Insane drifts from 1-2" snow.
  18. Ugh, State Highway obs again this year! Only better if you're a weenie like us and 0.2" makes a difference
  19. A little more snow fell on yesterday evening's coating...I just left that in place and measured what was there this morning, 0.5". This brings event total to 1".
  20. Came here to post exactly this. Also on the dot.
  21. FWIW (not that much), my dad lives w/in a mile of the mall and eyeballs "barely one inch". He loves snow but more like a normal person/not rabidly enough to measure, and is elderly so all the better.
