Emphatically not ready to bring on spring, whether it's going to snow or not. A warm stretch here and there for outside activities? Sure! But that's it. It's Feb 17th. No spring till proper spring. It's just muddy and depressing. Posts about oh shit there's a mosquito in the house I pulled a tick off the dog blergh.
Postponed. Would rather risk feeling like a wimp than the I-95 experience. Much as I trust my beat up 2005 VW Golf
Now I can weenie out all day and evening tracking snow until my eyes bleed lol.
Ob: just over .5" rain
Drive from Harford Co. to Columbia for 5-6 pm plans and back again 10ish...to brave the winds or postpone...opinions welcome.
edit, I guess this is banter but it's slow here so eh
I think most anti-negativity is not so much about what you describe (2-4 vs 15) as...people who get upset they might get a foot+ of snow instead of two+ feet bc a model showed two feet before. But maybe you feel that way too. Not sure of the geography of those complaints but it's obv worse if they've had a good winter to date and are whining
But -- unless I'm missing something it's not that many people. It seems like it only takes a single complaint for a dozen people to be like omgggg the meltdownsss it's pandemonium this place is off the rails etc which is why I advocate ignoring people who make truly ridiculous complaints.
Some of the best rates I've ever seen. Total whiteout, wind, less than 2" snow but crazy drifts. I know it was less impressive for some in the forum but absolutely wild here. Otherworldly.
Wish I could've stayed awake but nice to hop on this morning and see the telltale 200+ posts. Fun times. Joy for all lowlanders even northern ones Ways to go. Happy Valentine's Day, fellow weirdos.
I have 3.5", too. 2.5" yesterday, without any clearing, so I'm sure compacted. Cleared before going to sleep and another inch this morning. I saw T. August post 3.7" so some E-W consistency.
