Down to 43 here this morning. Weather has been great, but our 1.27" for August is not enough rain. Glad we had over 7" in July otherwise it'd really be fried out there.

Got lucky and got pegged by a rogue downpour early this morning and picked up a quick 0.16".

Got all the way down to 54 here this morning. Surprised me it got that cool. Felt great.

Picked up 0.06 from a decaying cell. This mornings progressive outflow boundary screwed us here for this setup. Will finish August with <1.25".

Picked up 0.00" of rain here. 1.04" for the month. One last crack at it tomorrow night, and then it looks pretty dry until the end of the month.

Hit 94 here today, with max dewpoint of 81. Luckily will get a decent break from high humidity next week.

'Heat' lightning pretty frequent in the northern sky here. -
Today reminds me of the Plainfield tornado day back in 1990. Powerful southeastward moving storms over northeast IL while we baked under full sun out in the western portion of the state.

Pretty sultry out there with dews pushing 80. Looks like today/tonight's action should just miss northeast. Matches up nicely with yesterday's miss west.

Wasn't expecting to be under a severe thunderstorm watch today. Looks like yet another round of heavy thunderstorms for DVN's northwestern CWA. Expecting a nice round of anvil rain later from the leftovers lol.

The big 3-day high-end rain event that was so hyped by NWS and guidance resulted in a paltry 0.57" here. As per typical the northwest part of the DVN cashed in bigtime though. That area is way overdue for a run of bad luck in the precip department.

Finished with 0.54" Significantly less than forecast but nice to avoid flooding issues.

0.06" worth of anvil rain so far here. 4-5" just west of the QC.

Looks like Iowa's leftover cloud debris screwed over the setup for the nw 2/3 of the DVN cwa. Will probably have to wait on whatever rolls in late tonight/tomorrow morning from that next round.
