  1. Looking pretty juicy. Flash drought cancel. Our streak of 90 degree days has ended at 7, as today will stay in the 80s. Have a few more 90+ days for tomorrow and Tuesday, but after that it looks like all 80s into early July.
  2. 4-6" of rain across the far north Chicago suburbs this evening, with a nice heavy soaker for much of the rest of northern IL/Chicagoland. So nice to see a widespread soaker after all of these piddly hit and miss "air-mass" storms the past week.
  3. Best downpour of the summer for sure, with over 1 inch in 20 minutes. The area gardens rejoice.
  4. 7th day in a row of 90 or above. Hoping for a good downpour later this evening.
  5. Not in our sub but just south of Sioux Falls SD there's 2 reports where over 17" of rain fell the past 3 days. Extreme northwest corner of IA picked up close to a foot of rain.
  6. I could smell the rain from a tiny cell that passed a few miles south a little while ago. Top 3 event the past 3 weeks.
  7. A shower earlier this eve deposited another 0.07". Up to 0.08" for the day.
  8. Picked up 0.01" from a withering orphan anvil earlier. Managed another 90+ day both here and at MLI.
  9. Not too bad at 1.43". Most of that was on the 4th so with the heat and lack of rain since it's starting to brown up a little but not too bad yet.
  10. Despite a robust cu field much of the afternoon MLI managed to bag a 90. Hit 91 here.
  11. 91 today here and at DVN, MLI with 92. Even with low 70s dews it's not too bad with the 30mph wind gusts out there.
  12. DVN has had a heat advisory for it's cwa for the past 2 days while LOT hasn't for theirs. Must be some disagreement between the two offices as LOT has the hotter temps with this setup, and the humidity levels are about the same.
  13. 93 at MLI today, 95 here. Not very impressive heat for this area with this heatwave. Better heat off to the east this time.
  14. The MCV ended up being pretty impressive with over 40 severe reports.
  15. 93 here before the storms moved in, and MLI made it to 91.
  16. Yeah only got 0.11" here as well as the line sort of propagated over us.
  17. 45mph gusts so far. Dad in the QC said it got pretty wild there for a bit with the winds.
  18. DVN just gusted to 62mph. The storms are currently undercut but may quickly grow upscale
  19. Luckily all the hi-res guidance were wrong this morning in delaying redevelopment of the MCV convection. Looks like a new watch will be issued shortly.
  20. Today's mid 90s look like it will be busted by the remnant MCV cloud debris moving in. Unfortunately it looks like the MCV will wait to reactivate until it gets past here if the latest hi-res guidance is correct.
  21. Dews mixing down into the 40s this afternoon allowed temps to overachieve by several degrees. MLI nearly bagged another 90+ day with an 89. Lots of 90s on he way, but the Euro backed off a little bit compared to that crazy 00z run last night. At least the dews will be pretty wimpy compared to what's likely coming in July.
  22. Landscape gonna fry up good now with today's no show for rain. Rain chances going forward look pretty bad until maybe next weekend. The consistent spring rains were nice while they lasted..
