  1. From 46 yesterday morning to 92 today for the hottest temp of the year so far. MLI made it to 93.
  2. Some 30s in western Indiana this morning. Crawfordsville 37, and LAF hit 38. 46 here this morning.
  3. Yeah I remember going through long stretches last summer where the maps were looking pretty hopeless lol
  4. Another day with 45 mph winds. Seems like the past several years have had more very windy days (40 mph+) than we used to have. Feels like we live in Kansas now sometimes.
  5. Finally got a chance to experience the cicadas. Drove out to Loud Thunder forest preserve (southwest of the QC) today and they were out in force. Definitely way louder than the annuals. They were smaller than I thought they would be. Was expecting them to be the same size as the green annuals.
  6. Brief rain shower late this afternoon deposited 0.01". Up to 1.32" for the month now.
  7. Yeah DVN finally woke up and issued a wind advisory. They stopped it west of here though even though we are also getting 45 mph gusts. Lots of blowing dust out in the open country, which surprised me given the recent rains.
  8. Picked up over an inch this evening from several different cells that traversed the area.
  9. Tonight's withering band of Iowa sloppy seconds looks like that will be it for the foreseeable future for meaningful rainfall. After a fairly wet Mar-May we were due for a long dry stretch however. Picked up 0.04" of anvil rain earlier.
  10. 87 here today (MLI 89'd). Dews in the 60s bumped the heat index up into the lower 90s. Can definitely feel it as we're not used to humidity yet. Area fields have corn 1-2ft tall already, so oppressive humidity probably isn't too far off in the future.
  11. Bursts of heavy drizzle and a few passing showers earlier from this lame system. Picked up 0.13".
  12. I'm good with it, free AC. After last summer's 100 degree day and heat indices over 120 I'm okay with less heat this summer.
  13. After seeing and hearing the cicada vids that have been posted I'm glad they were a no show. It makes the usual annual cicadas sound like mouse farts in comparison.
  14. Nice severe warned cell with 50mph winds and sleet size hail just blew through and deposited a quick 0.35". Looked pretty legit out there for a few minutes. The hail core with some golf ball size hail potential luckily missed 5 miles to the south.
  15. DVN now has the confirmed tornado count from Friday up to 16.
  16. Oh yeah I'm sure we'll get our usual round or two of 80-83 degree dews in July.
  17. Another nice soaking as the rain train continues to roll on. Picked up 0.65" so far, so 4.27" for the month now.
  18. DVN confirmed 5 or 6 tors so far. Most were luckily our usual bird fart/one scan wonders.
  19. Yeah great sleeping weather last night too. Got down to 49 here. Nice to have the fresh breeze blowing in the windows.
  20. 3.39/6.38/3.59 for 13.36" total. Couldn't have asked for a better spring rainfall wise, yet not overly wet to where the farmers were locked out from planting.
  21. 0.85" here today from the 2 rounds of storms. Up to 3.59" for May. More soakers on the way for Sunday.
  22. Awesome layered shelf cloud this morning with the tor warned line. Looks like a few brief spin-ups occurred just south and southeast.
