  1. Just absolute high risk potential here with this one. Summer airmass + dynamic late October low is not a combo you wanna mess with
  2. You know, my family from Ohio did not honestly believe me that ocean temps were as warm as they are. Took them over to Folly and the water temp was 83, was just a look of pure shock. Even right now it's still 74° out there. Very swimmable this weekend
  3. But then I’d lose my tan haha! In all honesty the weather down here is wonderful, but man is it uneventful so I follow your threads and FaceTime my family whenever a severe storm or snow storm hits. Right now we’re in a pattern of 75/50 every day with low humidity and sunshine which is pretty tough to beat
  4. Boy, it's nice to see everyone is getting along in the Great Lakes region...
  5. I will say it's been noticeable how warm we're staying this year in the Lowcountry. I'm keeping the pool good until at least Halloween, giving me about a 7 month swimming season. I don't see us dipping below 70° highs until then
  6. Ahhh it’s Fall in the Lowcountry!
  7. What an absolutely insane number. If you work remote you could legit stay at the cottage before going south until November
  8. I am! Holy shit this is the strongest tornado in Ohio since Dayton 2019
  9. Basically a Cat 1 hurricane in West Kansas right now. Some serious wind up and down that whole line
  10. Right lol? Appears as though it’s gaining forward speed as well
  11. Was chatting with my Dad who still resides in the Toledo area, it has been 136 days since the temperature has failed to reach 70°. Looks like the streak will make it to 139 before ending on Saturday
  12. For sure I would. As long as you have a good radar app, stick to open space, and keep a safe distance you're good to go. Heck I remember when I was younger living in Ohio before the 4G cell days, I'd call a buddy with GRLevel and they'd give me a radar play by play while I chased. Then just let your eyes guide you and watch where the lowering/rotation is and stay out of hail
  13. Maybe he meant storms chasing him Really though, in the Midwest that's okay from a chasing perspective. You've got tons of wide open field and flat land, easier to stay safe as long as you don't act like a lunatic and get right up in it
  14. Also wasn’t there significant snow in late April up there this year? If anything you’re all owed a little more nice weather lol
  15. I find it amazing they have information from hurricanes back that long ago
  16. Thank you for posting this! Very interesting hypothesis there
  17. Need a pattern change to relieve those poor folks in the Gulf. I feel like it just has not stopped raining around those parts
  18. Hawaii type weather around here lately. Just beautiful
  19. Was 62° this morning! I will say when you grow up with 4 very distinct seasons in the Midwest it is quite a weird feeling to essentially not have a Fall. It's almost a sort of exhaustion over having temps on a daily basis be in the ballpark of 90° from Mother's Day to October 1st.
  20. What a weird day. Absolutely poured buckets this morning, 5" of rain from this girl, now it's pure sunshine and calm with a high in the low 80s and reasonable humidity levels.
  21. Easy rusty. The wind/storm surge damage is incredible down there, which will require massive infrastructure costs to rebuild. Also oceanfront property is not the cheapest
  22. This is one of the things even I as a weather hobbyist didn't fully realize until I came down here, the difference in impacts in only a few miles is wildly different. I remember going out to Folly Beach last year during Isaias and the difference in conditions between my house and Folly (20 miles as the crow flies) was astounding. Went from cloudy with a slight breeze to 50 mph winds and roaring seas.
