  1. A random 60 miles per hour wind gust is manageable. When you start getting in the 70s you have issues. I hope hope hope this is overdone but we will see.
  2. From my eyes the storm looks about as good in satellite as it has in awhile yet. Those wind projections are eye opening for sure. especially considering last July when we had that thunderstorm Squall line move through the Jersey Shore with 75 mile an hour winds I think we had hundreds of thousands without power for at least a couple of days.
  3. An 80 mph gust on LI and 70 on the Jersey Shore is a good possibility. I'll be covering this one from manasquan (as usual) and certainly emphasize the tornado threat.
  4. Just got placed in a warning here in Wall for 80 mph wind gusts! - this is serious.
  5. Fun storm. Great cloud formations from my front porch, but damage and trees all over just up the road.
  6. Was out grilling some chicken and had wet snowflakes hitting me here in Point Pleasant Beach with a temp around 48.
  7. We are about to changeover to sleet or freezing rain in the NW Philly burbs where I am now in Phoenixville. That line is rapidly advancing east. It's still about 25 degrees outside.
  8. Ocean is 46 degrees in Belmar. That's above normal for this time of year.
  9. The Raritan Bay effect snow was fun for about an hour this morning in Long Branch. We were at Pier Village on the boardwalk. When it combined with the band moving from the West it dropped visibility down to about 1/3 mile and coated everything even pavement at 9 am.
  10. The morning rush hour Wednesday has the potential to be quite dicey as it stands right now. No one is going to take a snow threat seriously tomorrow when it's 65 degrees and raining.
  11. I don't mean for you. I mean for areas where nothing fell. Nothing is on the ground. Where is the justification for WSW when the actual forecast calls for an additional 1-2 inches on top of nothing? How can that be substantiated?
  12. There's no reason Western NJ should still be in a winter storm warning when no accumulating snow fell from Trenton to Princeton and now they're only calling for 1-2 inches more. Same goes for most of Hunterdon County south of Flemington. Where less than 2 fell all day.
  13. Dry air is a storm killer. Dave Curren now lowering potential totals. I knew we were in trouble especially for Western NJ when the sun was coming out at 11 am in Princeton.
  14. Almost 2 inches on the grass in Point Pleasant Beach. We are so close to getting dry slotted but for now it's amazing.
  15. Moderate snow now after some heavy snow in Ringoes. About 3/4 inch on ground.
  16. It's only my second one. Got a deal for my birthday. But at least Royal Caribbean is already pledging to help. I know exactly what you're talking about though.
  17. My friend (who lacks a soul apparently) says if the workers are homeless or worse they'll just staff it with crew from the ship.
  18. How badly will I be internet shamed if I post my Nassau and CoCoCay Perfect Day cruise photos we are supposed to be on in 2 weeks??? All kidding aside honestly I hope they change the itinerary.....
  19. Stopped traffic on route 13 near broad Creek. Something was on the ground there.
  20. Tornado likely crossed route 13 in Delaware just north of Laurel.
  21. Getting nothing but spam on my iPhone again trying to browse the forums. Can someone please help
  22. Mike Rizzo (news 12 met), his GF, Noni Hodges (News 12 met) and myself chased from NJ to Seneca, South Carolina to the Duke Energy facility in the upstate. I just threw this little video together of our experience. If I said I didn't cry when it happened I would be lying. If I said I didn't cry assembling this video, again, I would be lying. We had 2 minutes 30 seconds of totality. It was the greatest single nature moment of my life. I find myself even getting choked up when trying to describe to friends back at home what it was actually like.
