  1. I am with Walt on the coastal flood potential Friday. Highest astronomical tides of the year, weeks of higher than normal waves and water stuck in back bays, already minor to moderate beach erosion from Ophelia and Friday could be the finale.
  2. Wind gust to 51 in Belmar at a home reporting station. It definitely sounds like Saturday outside again.
  3. Gusts are back over 40 mph at the beaches with what best can be described as an immediate soaking mist if you stepped outside.
  4. As advertised at the beaches. Winds have constantly gusted 50+ lots of rain, beaches are getting pounded. Saw a power pole down in Brielle and lots of small branches all over town.
  5. That is a rough looking long range on some of the models this afternoon. Constant battering onshore flow and storms. Beaches are going to be hurting. Next weekend will have the highest lunar tides of the year.
  6. Could be a prolonged period of beach erosion/wave action coming on top of some small erosion issues from Lee's swells. Luckily full moon isn't for another week after this event.
  7. Perfect 100% day at the Jersey Shore for another local summer Sunday.
  8. There should be some great surf this weekend for the Asbury Park Sea Hear Now music and surfing festival. Probably the largest surf in years with a west component in the winds over the weekend as waves come down from close to 10 feet Friday to a 4-7 weekend swell at least.
  9. Was actually hot on the beach no clouds no wind. My friends from Florida visiting said we needed to go to shade at 1 pm lol. Beautiful weekend. Intense surf today again but they let us in the water in Point Pleasant Beach.
  10. Barely anything at all by the beach. Enough to wet the pavement.
  11. The Jersey Shore still looks overdone.
  12. Just got out after a good swim in Point Pleasant Beach. I can't remember July ocean temps this nice in a long time. Felt like around 78. Seabreeze moved in at 130 pm pushing dry heat out of the way. Amazing perfect summer afternoon now
  13. Not quite a perfect beach day but it definitely feels juiced out here at the Point Beach and water temps feel 10 degrees warmer than a week ago. Inland is gonna be in for a rough go of it. It's a bit out of area but the Blue Route corridor in Philly burbs is taking one on the chin today. 4-5 inches already and training.
  14. I am banking on another dry weekend at the beach. Lawns are actually brown and crispy by me.
  15. Been thundering most of the day in Point Pleasant Beach black skies to the west but we are locked into the tropics along immediate shore and finally feels like summer for the first time this year
  16. miserable day along the beach in Belmar. Winds gusting to 30, temps barely in the 60s.
  17. Spectacular weekend at the beaches. Finally.
  18. Point Pleasant Beach before Jenkinson's shut down and Clark's Landing marina
  19. Back on topic, what do strongest winds look like at this point?
  20. Walked to a phenomenal brunch on the lower east side today. Flurries. Second time I saw snow this "winter." GFS showing 5 cutters. Looking forward to my Florida and Caribbean adventures in February at this point.
  21. 54 degrees in Clifton where I am now for work. This winter is trash.
  22. Models performed well this past storm regards to wind. Top gust was a 51 I saw at Harvey Cedars. Lots of places in upper 40s along the beach. As long as there's not much easterly wind component to this system erosion hopefully won't be as bad as last Friday.
  23. Point Pleasant just hit 82. Feels so amazing outside.
