  1. I guess they do not like the excessive wetness. I have had a few in my garage as well.
  2. I planted several rectangular areas of grass to cover some areas that died due to sun and lack of rain. Similar to putting sod down. They are not growing much yet but will when the sun comes out for longer than 6-8 hours. My existing grass will not grow much now but it is greening a bit. Half of my maple leaves are down so will have to mow just to get rid of the leaves.
  3. I was just pointing out that some models did show rain. The GFS did not. I cannot defend CTP's zones though! Today looks like a gang buster rain day for some as well. I missed out on most this weekend so hope to get in some today. It has only rained about 1/3" here Fri-now.
  4. The 2 "major meso's had from .5-1.5" for most of us on their 18Z Friday runs (through now.) Cannot speak for zones though! Nam was a little too light in Lanco though.
  5. The NFL Ensembles are suggesting that the Washington Football Commanders are the best team in the NFC East.
  6. True, but would love to have it get under. But the statement suggested it was a done deal...which it is not unfortunately for MDT. Maybe it is over there.
  7. We does not include MDT at this point. They are AN.
  8. Florida state paying to build a temp road on Anna Maria Island so residents can get back to their houses and get their belongs. Will take 3-5 days. Going to be hard to save many first-floor homes unless that drywall gets cut out asap and drying started.
  9. Grunge is easy to sing along to though, like a lot of 80's rap, so people sang along regardless of the quality!
  10. You banged that out while I was typing up above. LOL
  11. One thing of interest, that is displayed well on the EC, but hinted on others is jet stream interaction. Last week we joked about any prospective hurricaine arriving in the NE just in time to interact with a vort and front dropping cold air down...well now the Northern Stream Wave is coming in earlier and more dominant and it does spin up a Nor'easter but also in effect squashes any true storm in the Southeast.
  12. A weak but excessive rainer. All the globals having confused looks with what to do with vorts in the area. Still a risky situation later this week. Icon tries to start something on the East Coast of Florida.
  13. It was the same here until today though we have had little rain the last 3 days. 12Z GFS and CMC says to keep your summer wear handy. The exclamation of 80's being over back in early to mid Sept may have jinxed us.
  14. Yea, it is the hills. On the other side of the ridge, it never broke into sun today. I got 5 higher than HGR as the upper layers heated up fast. This GFS map depicts it fairly well for at least over here.
  15. 3 canes in 13 months for Taylor county Florida. That would be 4. Up to 82 here! Feels super warm.
  16. Nooners. Partly Sunny and 79 but about 500 feet up the mountain it is drizzle and 64.
  17. Since I used to live in Bradenton I just checked damage there.... devastating at the beaches and people along the rivers. All 3 beaches, Bradenton, Holmes and Anna Maria were basically destroyed. Buildings standing but had water in them to the tune of 6-8 feet and I do not think you can recover from that....has to be destroyed. All the roads around the beaches destroyed. We thought insurance was bad before....
  18. She did not, it would have cost her $800 a month for it. That 100 grand every 10 years.
  19. Here is the view form that hospital I mentioned...taken from the tropical thread. Alan on X: "View from the roof of Unicoi County Hospital in Erwin, TN where 54 individuals are currently stranded. #HurricaneHelene #tnwx #flooding https://t.co/sdOKva99S6" / X
