  1. Smelled very smokey here this morning near 7:30 A.M. I have not checked, but with the winds NW makes me wonder. For a couple hours it was a very strong smell.
  2. Today overachieved the high temp here at 86, Philly hit 87. Looking forward to tonight and tomorrow. Currently 86/61
  3. My neighbor works at a local Home Depot. He told me this weekend that the Halloween supplies and kits have arrived and they plan to set up displays soon.
  4. Dew point continues to drop now at 62, wow ! But, cloud cover has increased and I see showers on the radar to my far South near extreme Southern DE. Going to time in an outside landscape project tomorrow and Weds AM., only because of the cooler weather and lower dews. Some folks tomorrow morning will be thinking of Fall, with thoughts about Fall coffees, pumpkin comes to mind.
  5. @wdrag already mentioning FF pattern concerns up in his area of the NYC forum. Seems the PWATs will be climbing again as we head closer to the weekend.
  6. Spoke to soon about heat not reaching extreme levels, there is a possibility we go higher than 95 degrees, however, at this time it appears the highest air temps will be North of us, where the Euro has 100 + heat . It goes without saying that dew points are going to soar again, along with thunderstorm potential.
  7. Dew point 66 here presently, love it ! Tomorrow morning should be even better with lower air temps.
  8. That was a real rainfall producer. Was coming down in sheets, no thunder or wind, just heavy tropical like rains. Dropped .65 here. Grass is happy.
  9. Interesting cell near Chesapeake City, MD. moving generally SE.
  10. Thats crazy, there is a storm as you mentioned to his NW, to me it looks like in North centreal MD moving East.
  11. Mount Holly states there will be some mixing today during the afternoon hours, so dew points may not reach extreme levels at that time. Presently my DP is 76, very steamy ! Also, seeing some storms form in North central Maryland moving East. Worse area appears to be the Delmarva region where it almost reaches heat advisory levels. Increasing southwest flow will usher a warmer and more humid airmass into the region. Highs today will top off in the upper 80s to around 90. Surface dew points will generally be in the low to mid 70s, but afternoon mixing should keep dew points from getting into the upper 70s. Will blend the CONSALL and NBM guidance for dew points today, and that will keep dew points from getting as high as the NBM. Max heat index values will be in the mid to upper 90s, and near 100 in Delmarva, which will be just below Heat Advisory criteria.
  12. Rather remarkable, no wonder why so many reports of flooding in the area this past month. This trend looks to continue despite a break or two.
  13. Posted a while back over a period of 90 days cloud cover was indeed above normal. So bascially back a couple months we were running with above average winds, and cloud cover, and that has evolved into higher overnight lows above average and of course dew points very extreme, a relationship I imagine with high overnight lows and more frequent rainfall.
  14. 1.10 " of rain here last night. Tomorrow should feel great compared to today and yesterday. .
  15. We are likely done with extreme heat.
  16. OMG the sky. I would die for that.
  17. Storms starting to fire up out West, will be an interesting evening and overnight.
  18. 88/76 heat index at 99
  19. Next week, days 6 through 10, appears the worse of the heat shifts to the West of us, and rain oppurtunities may decrease after Sunday and Sunday night.
  20. Overnight lows been crazy high for a while.
  21. 1.10 " yesterday. I'll take it. Been a good month overall for rainfall here, not too low and not too extreme to cause issues in the garden, however, the very high dewpoints are causing lawn disease and increase the probability for tomato blight. Some areas not to far away with 3 to 3.5 inches or rain. Crazy storm gradient totals so close to each other.
  22. Impressive electrical storm here with heavy rain and house shaking thunder.
  23. Line to my West is holding together, may even be getting stronger. The line is moving towards me from Elk Neck State Park.
  24. At this rate I might have to water the lawn in the morning. Second storm of the day missed. We'll see what the later line brings
