Just mulch mow them and be done with it. I’ve been doing that for 25 years here. Now I freely admit that my yard is basically a weed lawn but it’s a damn healthy one. I have never seeded and never fertilized. The clippings quickly disappear and feed the lawn. (Weeds) lol Here are two photos. One from the rear of my house and one from the side. I have an acre I keep mowed.

After the above post things really got rocking. Best lightning and thunder in several years. Picked up 2.75” of rain in about an hour. Put me over 9” for the month.

Just had a nice storm here. Good rain and lightning but the temperature is what got my attention. It went form 92.6º to 67.8º in about 30 minutes.

Maybe I should have made my post last month. After being just missed by what looked on radar as a serious storm I managed to pick up 0.63” late this afternoon. We need a lot more but it is enough to activate my weed lawn so a mowing I will soon be.

Are you sure you’re not confusing this with your night at Porky’s? Was a good one here in Archdale. 20” most of it in 4 hours with wild thunder and lightning for about 2 hours. Totals dropped off quickly as you went north from here. PTI airport is less than 20 miles from here and if I am remembering correctly they reported 7”. 11:37 PM, Feb 26,k 2004. My total June rain was 0.14”. By far the driest month in the my 25 years at this location. For July only 0.74”. To say it is dry here is quite an understatement. Interestingly, this week I have been under 3 areal flood watches, one flood warning and one severe thunderstorm warning. There has been heavy rain slightly to my west, east, north and south. By slightly I mean the red echos on Radar Scope touched the outside of the blue ring that shows your location several times during the course of the week.. One plus though. I last mowed my yard on June 10.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that if NW Wake got 12 feet of snow and SE Wake got 8" the anguished posts would reach an all tine high. 8" would suddenly become, "almost nothing".

Now that is a gradient. Imagine snow at a 10 to 1 ratio. NW Wake County in NC received 151.6" of snow. Over 12 feet!! Amounts dropped off quickly as you moved south and east with SE Wake County recording only 8.2".

OK. Someone heard me complain. 1.72" overnight in the loudest storm of the year. Several consecutive lightning strikes with almost simultaneous thunder. Freaked my dogs out.

Only 0.28" today which gives me a grand total for the month of 0.80" for the month. Lots of dark days for August but not much rain.

This storm was around 1 pm. It has actually gotten worse outside. 90.3º, 83.7º dew point, and a "real feel" temp of 115.3º. Can't remember when I've seen that combination here.

Had a nice storm about 2 hours ago that gave me just over one inch of rain. But now I pay the price UGH!! The sun is out 87.6º temp with an 80.7º dew point.

Yeah, my weather station reported 7 gusts of 40 or more. Four of them between 6:10 and 6:40 pm. Had to go out and gather up the yard furniture.

This settles it. You can’t argue with a guy who’s very name is math I don’t understand.

I agree with your point about long drives but the main issue with overtime is fairness. Guaranteed red zone chances would be more fair than the current setup.

Damn, how embarrassing would it be to be killed by an avalanche in Raleigh NC.

I see a problem here. The program seems to be stuck in a loop. Besides it is never completely fair. If team one scores team two knows it now does not have to worry about punting on fourth down so it has 4 plays to get each first down on its drive instead of three.

OK so team one gets the ball for the second time and scores again. Is that it?
