  1. I was in the right spot for once. 1.41” today and 3.44” for the month.
  2. Go ahead and hold it. I’ll bet you would look good in purple.
  3. Looks like some rotation just west of Mayodan.
  4. It’s still coming but now shows signs of some weakening. Less lightning in the last half hour. I think by the time it reaches me on the Guilford/Randolph border it will be just be a short period of moderate rain and maybe a rumble of thunder.
  5. Looks like it is holding together. In fact it seems to be getting stronger. Surprising for this time of the evening.
  6. 1.75” for the month here. Enough to green things up at least for a while.
  7. It is definitely a seller’s market. It will reverse but probably not for a year or so.
  8. The foothills got your rain and are still getting it. Should be some fairly impressive totals by the end of the day.
  9. I’ve been watching that one on radar and figured you were getting a good shot of rain. It is presently sliding by me just to the east. I am up to a big 0.02” now.
  10. Storms all around me for a lot of the day but I got blanked. 0.0000000000000”
  11. My two day total is 0.05”. Break out the sandbags.
  12. Even my weed yard is showing signs of distress but it is much greener than many of the “fancy” lawns around here.
  13. Highest temp: 91.9º Lowest Temp: 39.7º Highest dew point: 74.1º Lowest dew point: 33.2º Only 1.97” of rain for the month here.
  14. I’m old enough to remember when the glacier breeze kicked in and lowered afternoon temps. Sometimes I even had to put on my Sabre Tooth Tiger jacket in the middle of summer. Good times.
  15. NWS Boulder ::Attention:: We are currently investigating this weather phenomenon. What we do know is that it is rather bright so avoid looking directly at it. We have our best minds on it! #cowx #
  16. All true but it doesn’t change the fact that a fuel shortage can be created any time everyone decides to fill up their tank at once. Shortages have two components. The supply side and the demand side. The toilet paper shortage last year was totally demand driven. Companies quickly upped the TP production over 30% and there was still a shortage. This time it is both supply and demand that has been disrupted so the effect is more rapid and severe for a short time. Once gasoline starts being delivered to stations in a few days it will quickly return to a more normal situation since most cars have full tanks and demand will lesson for a few days.
  17. Primarily self inflicted. Everyone filled their tanks at once. Think bread and milk in the winter.
  18. A lot of women will. Just saying.
  19. Boone can be a very windy place. Way back, I won’t even tell you how far back, when I was at App St I lived at the west end of town and had to walk back home after a night event at school. I smoked back then. It was cold as shit and the wind was roaring. I managed to light a cigarette against the doorway of the movie theater and started walking directly into the wind up King St. It was so cold and windy that the tobacco burned inside the paper of the cigarette but the paper only had some small holes in it. I’d never seen that before or since.
  20. I was trying to see exactly what pee sized hail was and my wife got really mad with the mess I made in the bathroom. She said something about moving to a home.
  21. 44º/82º. Real spring has commenced.
  22. Congratulations! Major life change inbound. Enjoy.
  23. 28º here this am. Calling for 24º tonight. A chilly 36/24 at the moment.
