  1. I have to be the oldest Newbie on record.
  2. About time. I’ve been waiting all day for someone to start this thread so I could pin it.
  3. Careful. You don’t want to became a Charles (Charley) Havlat.
  4. If the water is low enough just reach under the rocks and pull them out by hand.
  5. You did some touring. When I went back to West Milford 6 years ago I was amazed at how little it had changed. Still a small rural town in population but large in area. The population was almost exactly the same at the last census as it was back in the 1960s in the mid 20K range. The township is about 80 sq miles which I think is the largest in the state. However, a high percentage of the land area is set aside as Newark watershed that can only be used for hunting and fishing. It really was a great place to grow up but when I say I grew up in NJ people think the Jersey turnpike NJ. West Milford is much more like small New England town. 6. I’m putting this here because it is the most active thread. I was going over all my saved links from the past and ran across this one that I had completely forgotten about. You may already know this one but in case you don’t I am posting the link. It is worldwide but can zoom on to local. It has many, many layers you can view from wind patterns to ocean wave patterns to pollution levels. One of the more interesting things to me is the world wide webcams. It is just stop action over the past 24 hours but there are hundreds of them from Montana to Mongolia. I hope you enjoy playing around with it while we endure the summer heat. https://www.windy.com/-Satellite-satellite?satellite,2021-06-29-12,47.010,-98.262,4
  7. Where are you in North Jersey? I grew up in NJ.
  8. Yep. I mowed today and didn’t even have to put on my bright white mowing shirt.
  9. I was in the right spot for once. 1.41” today and 3.44” for the month.
  10. Go ahead and hold it. I’ll bet you would look good in purple.
  11. Looks like some rotation just west of Mayodan.
  12. It’s still coming but now shows signs of some weakening. Less lightning in the last half hour. I think by the time it reaches me on the Guilford/Randolph border it will be just be a short period of moderate rain and maybe a rumble of thunder.
  13. Looks like it is holding together. In fact it seems to be getting stronger. Surprising for this time of the evening.
  14. 1.75” for the month here. Enough to green things up at least for a while.
  15. It is definitely a seller’s market. It will reverse but probably not for a year or so.
  16. The foothills got your rain and are still getting it. Should be some fairly impressive totals by the end of the day.
  17. I’ve been watching that one on radar and figured you were getting a good shot of rain. It is presently sliding by me just to the east. I am up to a big 0.02” now.
  18. Storms all around me for a lot of the day but I got blanked. 0.0000000000000”
  19. My two day total is 0.05”. Break out the sandbags.
  20. Even my weed yard is showing signs of distress but it is much greener than many of the “fancy” lawns around here.
  21. Highest temp: 91.9º Lowest Temp: 39.7º Highest dew point: 74.1º Lowest dew point: 33.2º Only 1.97” of rain for the month here.
