  1. Something something 11 year cycle.
  2. Flipped from rain/snow to pure sleet to a heavy snow/sleet mix in the span of 5 minutes here in Plainview.
  3. Drizzle Moderate Snow Rain Light-Moderate Snow Rain/Snow Heavy Snow Rain/Snow Light Snow <——- Currently The snow accumulates and gets washed away before accumulating again.
  4. Thinnest part of the line went overhead (of course). 0.02” with a few moderate gusts.
  5. Topped out at 62 here, at 9 AM. Temps were off to the races, and then crashed, several times today.
  6. 60 with sunshine in Central Islip. 50 and misty here in Yaphank. Only 10 exits apart on the LIE.
  7. The differences are rather extreme. I’m in Hauppauge and it’s white as snow, yet in Central Islip it’s just wet, this is a latitudinal difference of maybe 3,000 feet.
  8. Very icy winter wonderland as you head north near the LIE. Very different story immediately south of there with no ice whatsoever.
  9. First 60 - Jan 2 First 70 - Feb 23 Now watch as LI’s first 80 comes in the second half of June after months of backdoors and onshore maritime slop.
  10. Oh wow, I thought that first little wave was it.
  11. Light to low end moderate snowfall during the squall. Nothing heavy enough to accumulate. Sunny again. As much as I loathe winter I’m a snow squall fan.
  12. My PWS recorded its highest gust since Isaias.
  13. Maybe it’s the longer days and slightly stronger sunshine but Feb torches feel much more appropriate than Dec torches to me (though I welcome both with open arms). Being on the coast we are sort of an outlier with Dec being the warmest winter month as opposed to Feb, it’s normally the opposite.
  14. Topped out at 63 here. I missed this.
