Get used to it. The precip hole has been here for a couple decades and has steadily gotten worse. That each and every model, which seemingly cannot agree on anything, now all show it for each and every event - even in the long range - is infuriating. But, it's not the models; they are correct. It's something that has happened to the climate. We don't get gulf storms anymore, and we don't seem to get juicy OHV lows either. And any coastal that forms are always too far east for us.

Nice to see that the GFS Ensemble can see the northern Shenandoah valley precip hole clearly from 10 days out.

This area was never great for snow, but it used to be a lot better and it damn sure was better than the metros. Not the last 20 years. And now we can't even beat the coastal plain.

Officially to the half-way point of winter with 1" of snow. On pace for a whopping 2" season, the 10th consecutive below average winter, and 10 years without a 6" storm.

We're at 39 degrees latitude. With next to no elevation. It's kind of surprising it ever snows at all.

We'll reach the half-way point of winter out here with 1" of snow. 1". And in a winter that has averaged BN temps. And on the heels of 9 consecutive BN snow winters.

We had a solid dusting earlier when the 5-minute squall came through. Mix of heavy graupel and snow. The wind has been ridiculous today. My Xmas tree is on the curb and twice now i've had to chase it more than a block up the street. I finally gave up and put it in the garage.
