  1. Yeah we'll see. Hopefully we luck out a bit.
  2. I'm getting to Vail on December 9. Just a nightmare pattern out there for the next 2 weeks.
  3. Given the environment with those storms it was bizarre not to have a SVR in effect especially with those velocity signatures.... AND the large number of TDSs already on Long Island. Wasn't great but hopefully next time will be better.
  4. It was tough. I wasn't in the office but we did go on a few times with updates. Not having even a SVR in effect (for some inexplicable reason) made the entire thing far more challenging to cover than it should have been.
  5. How many would have been confirmed pre dual pol?
  6. I think the old Modellab is done. They're shutting it down.
  7. I managed to avoid getting in an accident while surveying lol
  8. Was on the Cape this weekend - an impressive amount of tree damage along Rt 6 from Sandwich all the way to Truro. One thing I saw that was interesting was a stand of maybe 20 hardwood trees all snapped in half across from the transfer station in Truro.
  9. Son of Sandy! That was a great storm
  10. Yeah it's the vast majority of our market. I posted a map with our forecast too ane we had someone in New London County doing a localized forecast there from 4-630p. Not sure what else we can do.
  11. Yeah the Cape is pretty close to a lock. For most of us you'll need one of the deeper solutions to verify and get the low to tuck in pretty close to the coast I think. That may take some work.
  12. The NAM is quite a bit farther SE than the HRRR and Euro. I would imagine that would be close to NBD outside of the coast in SE NE.
  13. On a rad cooling night you could easily be at 36F at 2m but 32F on your windshield or blades of grass.
  14. Got my Epic pass in the mail today. Should ensure no snow this season.
  15. That's a separate issue (over warning for flooding... which we've done forever) than issuing a tropical storm warning for some 35 knot gusts or something.
  16. Because flooding is by far a much bigger threat. Besides a mention of some 40 mph gusts it's a waste of time to be honest. During the event we are quite inverted north of the warm front so those gust products seem overdone. As the storm pulls away there's a brief window for some 30-35 knot gusts but it doesn't look particularly impressive to me especially with a life-threatening flood event happening before. The Flash Flood Watch is enough for today.
  17. This has a lot of the hallmarks of a serious flood event. I'm pretty concerned for what unfolds tonight somewhere in CT/SE NY.
  18. It's all good. I'm pretty spoiled and travel a ton to cool places. I'll be back. I've always said that a hurricane is the only weather that will cut a trip short for me. Blizzards are a dime a dozen around here and tornadoes who knows until it's happening.
