  1. The amount of in my backyard bitching in this place is insane. Can we at least do it here or the panic thread?
  2. There's a good inch worth of frozen slush, ice pellets and sleet on my road. More crunchy than slippery.
  3. Crappiest of flakes/mist when not actually precipitating. Flips back to pellets when heavier.
  4. Force = mass x acceleration Acceleration = delta velocity / time .....keep going and we can derive the vorticity equation.
  5. Unfortunately I think that is the only option. Was hoping someone might have some clever idea or something more technologically advance than a shovel.
  6. Anyone have a good strategy for moving 1-2" of sleet and ice pellets off the driveway? Letting it melt isn't an option unless you want to wait for the cutter at D10.
  7. Take you own advice to Wolfie and just stop or take it to banter.
  8. 0.75" of sleet and ice pellets. Plow just went by. That glacier at end of driveway will be impossible to move. With the expected flooding of cold air....should probably start to plan when I move said glacier.
  9. If we start a "fraud" thread, I wonder how many we could come up with.
  10. Just noticed I'm under a Winter Storm Warning. Admittedly a little surprised....is it for ice? @OceanStWx
  11. I thought the 6z NAMs precip-type depiction over on the College of DuPage models page was a very reasonable projection of the evolution today/tonight/tomorrow. Skinny area of ZR pushing south, expanding area of sleet followed by a dusting of snow.
  12. If the Euro came out before the GFS....how many "the GFS is caving" posts would we see?
  13. Feel like 50% of the bridges around here look like that.
  14. Remember when some thought this would be a SNE snow event and the GFS was right? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
  15. I consider Nashua as part of SNE. To me the SNE, CNE, NNE demarcation can't be perfectly expressed as a straight line of latitude, you definitely have to take into account both elevation and proximity to ocean. For Nashua specifically, I'd expect a bunch of sleet on this one. And be happily surprised if its snow.
  16. What an odd setup this is. Ignoring current model output and just thinking logically about the setup I have to favor the warmer mix/rain solutions. 6"+ of snow in SNE from this setup just feels odd.
