  1. If these shorts range models are correct, the tree damage will be immense for areas still recovering and devastated from Helene wind and slide damage. It wont be pretty.
  2. HRRR is a bit colder this run too. Almost gets ice down to me in the lower elevations. Blue Ridge areas above 2,500 ft get hammered
  3. Still seems like we are a bit too far south in NC. VA looks good
  4. I have been driving to Asheville for work for over 5 years and this morning was probably the most foggy I have seen it on Old Fort mountain.
  5. Getting heavier rain tonight than I expected
  6. All I can see happening is transient cold shots after rain storms. I think snow chances are toast.
  7. Pass. They will get 4 to 6 inches then rain and a huge mess. Give me upstate NY with 2 feet of snow
  8. Nice heavy thunderstorm. First since December.
  9. Those cells are insane for early February.
  10. That's some huge rotation in east TN. February is the new April.
  11. I'm afraid trout fishing wont look the same for many years. Probably going to go west more this year. Most streams in McDowell, Yancey, Mitchell and Avery are still a mess. Fishable yes but it almost feels wrong fishing areas with debris piled 20 feet high and houses gone.
  12. Terribly blown forecast today. Yesterday NWS was forecasting a high of 49 and drizzle most of the day with a wedge. Instead it was a nice sunny 60° day.
  13. Flooding looks to be a legit threat for N GA, E TN and WNC and SC. Multiple waves of rain, some heavy from next Monday onward. This is just through 10 days. Theres more rain after this.
  14. Even DC is on the edge now. Probably best to be in PA.
  15. It's way north of the 12Z. Trend is obvious.
  16. Well that's not in the forecast the next few weeks either. If I had the choice I would take 70s and sunny even in February over 30s and 40s and rain. Where I live gets multiple cold air wedges a season and sometimes it's foggy for days with mist. It can be 70 in Asheville and 50 in Marion in the spring and fall. 50s and sunny is nice but that's the norm and the norm is not so normal anymore.
  17. You want 35 and rain 3 times in the next 2 weeks? That's misery.
  18. A lot of the mid Atlantic have had more snow than the NE I think. They have had multiple events.
  19. If its correct with this storm I will call it the new king
  20. Not surprising. Betting warm is the safe bet .
  21. Exactly. The (cold) rainfall amounts are very heavy for this time of year due to the front stalling out and multiple disturbances coming up from the SW. WNC needs a couple inches of rain but not 5-7+
