At this point I'm surprised we even got measurable snow this winter. What ever happened to the old days of huge CAD highs...

One big thing that is killing us this winter is the 50/50 can never setup and confluence has been weaker each storm as we get closer to the event. That's why we have had so many good looks in the 6-10 day range that simply turn into cold rain or mix.

Some ice and sleet in NC but moved pretty far north from last run

Canadian looks more amped and warmer in NC ahead of the system compared to 00Z.

Were only 5 days out now. The GFS and Euro are pretty far apart.

Theres basically no moisture west of CLT and Winston.

GFS is pretty weak and disorganized

ICON is no Bueno south of VA.

I think CAD might be underdone and could help us with surface temps at least. Could be a nasty ice storm or a sleet bomb

I think we get a mix of everything this storm but it could trend NW and we get 35 and rain.

Can't complain much. If it phases a bit sooner western NC will get buried.

Euro obliterates Virginia. Messy mix for NC.

UK is slightly warmer than 12Z but has a stronger system. More of a mixed bag for NC. Heavy snow VA. Edit- its quite a bit warmer than 12Z in the mid and upper levels in NC.

Virginia gets crushed again but it's a solid winter storm for most of NC
